Bristol Palin Reveals In New Book: Cindy McCain Offered To Be My Child’s Godmother
Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor and current Fox News contributor Sarah Palin, is coming out with a book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, in which she details the various reasons she dislikes various people. First up: Meghan McCain.
Meghan McCain Unfollowed Rep. Weiner On Twitter Because Her Mom Was ‘Uncomfortable’ About It
Meghan McCain has finally come clean of her interactions on Twitter with Rep. Anthony Weiner, all of which were public and completely appropriate. McCain is one of the last people to be cited by name in his Twitter feed during the scandal, as she had kind words for the Congressman in the press. Her latest Daily Beast column may have severed that mutual respect, however, as she confesses she no longer follows him to preserve her mother’s peace of mind.
O’Reilly Scolds Beck: ‘If I Was Cindy McCain, I’d Slap The Hell Out Of You’
Glenn Beck has gotten nothing but tongue-lashings for his recent theatrical vomiting at the mention of Meghan McCain‘s body, and he ended the week with one final slap on the wrist from colleague Bill O’Reilly. While Beck tried to justify his behavior compared to the controversial comments made by rapper Common, O’Reilly had none of it and commended McCain’s mother, Cindy, for striking back at Beck.
Meghan McCain Responds To Glenn Beck: ‘Shut Up About My Body’
Yesterday on his radio show, Glenn Beck, perhaps a little groggy from just getting off a plane from Israel, made the incredibly ill-advised decision to spend nearly 10 minutes fake vomiting at a skin cancer PSA in which Meghan McCain pretends to be nude. Cindy McCain quickly defended her daughter on Twitter and now Meghan herself has responded in her latest Daily Beast column. The title really says it all; “Shut Up About My Body, Glenn Beck.”
Political Odd Couple Connect In The Congo: Ben Affleck And Cindy McCain
Ben Affleck recently got Cindy McCain on the phone–and it wasn’t a misdial. McCain, of course, figured she was getting Punk’d. “She thought it was a prank call,” Affleck told ABC’s Jake Tapper, in a story set to air on tonight’s World News.
That call, Affleck says, was an invitation for McCain to join the actor on a trip designed to get attention for the suffering of the people in Congo, an issue the two will testify about tomorrow on Capitol Hill. “Politics doesn’t have anything to do with this. This is about human lives,” McCain said.
McCain On DADT: “I Will Listen to Our Military Leaders, Not A Study That Is Leaked”
This morning on Meet The Press, David Gregory talked to Senator John McCain about his position on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell — and his wife’s differing opinions on the issue as well.
“I want a thorough and complete study on the effect on morale and battle effectiveness of the United States military. I will listen, as I’ve said for years, to our military leaders, and not a study that is leaked,” McCain said.
Cindy McCain Blatantly Critiques Her Husband Over His DADT Support In New Ad
The latest NOH8 ad against gay bullying features Gene Simmons, Denise Richards and other celebrities.
But it also stars Cindy McCain, wife of Sen. John McCain, who makes some very clear her opposition to her husband’s policies on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
Coming Soon: Game Change, The Movie? Mediaite Suggests The Cast
When Game Change authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann joined Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough in discussing their best-selling and oft blogged about book, Halperin mentioned that the authors are in discussions with HBO about making a film version. Their dreamcast? Meryl Streep playing Hillary Clinton and Will Smith playing Barack Obama. Mediaite’s ideal cast is after the jump!
Game Change: Mark Halperin’s Cindy McCain Hypocrisy
Game Change, the upcoming (tomorrow) book by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, is already making waves in DC with its sensational revelations about the 2008 presidential campaign. One of those excerpts, posted by The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder, struck me as just a bit hypocritical. It concerns Cindy McCain and a previously discredited rumor, resurrected in Halperin’s book.
The Real Biker Chicks
The SNL sketch “Biker Chick Chat” from last weekend’s season opener got a lot of attention thanks to newcomer Jenny Slate’s F-bomb. But what didn’t get attention: the frickin’ bikes, dude! As it happens, we at Mediaite are totally into bike culture, and we noticed the dearth of actual bike chat immediately, ’cause we’re good like that. But it’s also because we learned at an early age that bikes were C-O-O-L. As it happens, Biker Chicks are too. So before SNL rocks the FCC anew tonight, here’s our pick of the best biker chicks around.
