Today marks the first day college football recruits can sign official letters of intent to attend the college of their choice. Recruiting is one of the most important aspects of college sports, but until the Internet, coverage of the process was sketchy. Now, two sites – Rivals and Scout – tower above all others in recruiting coverage, and fans from all over are happy to indulge.

Even before the Bowl Championship Series, the system that determines which two teams play for college football’s national championship, launched official Facebook and Twitter pages last week, it was no secret that many people think the system is broken. Fan response to the pages, maintained by BCS executive director Bill Hancock, simply confirmed the widespread discontent. And boy, was there a lot of confirmation.

On last night’s Hannity, the Fox News team finally revealed their true allegiances. To sports teams, that is. In honor of the start of the 2009 college football season, an assortment of Fox personalities went around and gave shout-outs (shouts-out?) to their alma maters.
