Boehner Blasts Obama Over Approving Solyndra But Rejecting Keystone XL Pipeline

Speaker of the House John Boehner lambasted President Obama for rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline during a press conference Wedneday. “President Obama expedited approval of the Solyndra loan project, but won’t approve a project that’s been under review for over three years…President Obama is destroying tens of thousands of American jobs and shipping American energy security to the Chinese.”

Report: Obama Administration To Reject Keystone XL Pipeline

Politico’s Darren Goode reports that President Obama will formally reject the Keystone XL pipeline. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns is expected to make the announcement at a 3pm briefing. Goode notes that White House and State Department officials “have not commented publicly Wednesday, but Tuesday, White House spokesman Jay Carney indicated the administration was concerned about the lack of an alternative route in Nebraska.”

While speaking at an event in Pittsburgh, Mitt Romney said he questioned the science behind global warming and opposed climate legislation. “‘My view is that we don’t know what’s causing climate change on this planet,” Romney said. “And the idea of spending trillions and trillions of dollars to try to reduce CO2 emissions is not the right course for us.”

Rick Perry slammed Mitt Romney‘s pro-environmental record in a new web ad calling the former Massachusetts governor and President Obama “Carbon Copies” when it came to regulating cap and trade. The video released online highlights a Wall Street Journal article that said Romney hired one of the state’s most prominent environmentalists and his state was the first to set carbon dioxide emission caps on power plants. A chyron pops up that reads “Romney implemented job killing carbon caps”, behind an ominous music track.
