Marcus Bachmann is, for better or worse, currently having his moment in the spotlight. Michele Bachmann‘s husband has been the topic of much… idle speculation… related to accusations that his clinic assures homosexual patients that they can “pray the gay away.”

In light of those accusations and general musing about the Congresswoman’s husband, an interesting anecdote first shared in 2006 has now been resurfacing across the web.

Bristol Palin certainly knows how to get people talking. She recently told Popeater’s Rob Shuter that GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann – a woman who has often been compared to Sarah Palin – has basically been jocking her mother’s signature style, to borrow the parlance of today’s youth.

Fox News’ website posed a doozy of a question to its readers today: “Are Burqa-Inspired Fashions Glorifying Female Oppression or Encouraging Women to Dress More Conservatively?”

On Thursday night, Jon Stewart tried to cover every single major news story of the week and got derailed by CNN’s Roland Martin and his amazing ascot ties. He isn’t the first to become enthralled by the commentator’s posh style, but Martin put together a nice compilation of his public ascot appearances for Stewart to drool over, anyway, and now we know why: Martin is in talks to design his own line of ascots for public consumption.

Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s long-awaited “Telephone” video is finally here and just as we’d all hoped, it’s a fashion explosion. And while the storyline of the 10 minute long video is certainly compelling and creative, it’s Gaga and Beyonce’s getups that have us totally obsessed. Behold the five trends inspired and confirmed by “Telephone.”

The anonymous internet user who came up with the now-famous George W. Bush “Miss Me Yet?” poster must be kicking themselves for not copyrighting the work. The poster, which originally appeared last September around the internet (as these things are wont to do), made a mysterious and unsettling appearance over a Minnesota highway last week and, after much speculation, one of the anonymous businessmen behind the billboard assured everyone that all they wanted to do was tell everyone to “lighten up.” It was enough to spark an online shopping frenzy.

Though digital magazines were conspicuously missing at the iPad’s debut, Interview, according to the HuffPo, previewed its digital brethren last night at its 40th anniversary party at the Hudson Hotel’s Good Units. The Factory would be proud on so many levels, except that the video was not made available in any viral form. Ew.

Famed fashion photographer, Irving Penn, died today at the age of 92 at his home in Manhattan. A much valued contributing photographer at Vogue, Penn quickly became a tastemaker. His ability to portray fashion with clarity landed 150 of his photographs on the fashion bible’s cover and a lengthy, 40 year stay at the publication.

As of a few weeks ago, the fashion world has been in a tizzy over Lizzie Miller’s naked body, stomach roll and all, in the September issue of Glamour, and they’re not done yet; there’s more to come.

Despite the online juggernaut that is PerezHilton.com, from a fashion perspective, Perez’s new fashion site, CocoPerez is, to put it lightly, a yawn. Can a blog exist on Anna Wintour hatred and Gossip Girl obsession alone? I think not. And so far it looks like that’s all Perez, er Coco, has to offer.
