It’s official: Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace and Rep. Michele Bachmann have buried the hatchet. On tonight’s Hannity, the Congresswoman and candidate for the Republican nomination in 2012 told host Sean Hannity that she had received a call from Wallace apologizing for asking her if she was a “flake” on his program on Sunday, “and I am happy to accept his apology.”

Chris Wallace is back again commenting on one of his interviews, but this time he is also apologizing. Earlier today he interviewed Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann and rather bluntly asked her “are you a flake?” It’s a question that Wallace now admits he regrets.

Chris Wallace, possibly with an extra bit of determination to prove Jon Stewart wrong, was particularly tough interviewing Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann. After a series of “serious” policy questions, Wallace explored a much simpler question, and one which Bachmann wasn’t shy to admit she found insulting. Is she a “flake?”

At the end of Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace admitted he was shocked how much attention last week’s interview with Jon Stewart received. In addition to reiterating his defense of how the interview was edited, Wallace this time also explained why Fox News truly is “fair and balanced” and how the “most misinformed” viewers are likely to be those who watch Stewart’s The Daily Show. Will Wallace’s parting shot be the last word or will there soon be another chapter in the Stewart/Wallace saga?

Jon Stewart appeared in his first Sunday morning news show interview ever with Chris Wallace, and unlike his often entertaining and jovial encounters with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, this confrontation was a bit more heated. Wallace opened the segment suggesting to Stewart “you love to take shots at Fox News” and from there Wallace was determined to get Stewart to admit that the mainstream media has a liberal bias. Yet Stewart refused to believe that anyone in the media is as “relentlessly activist” as Fox News.

In addition to sharing a her take on the story of Paul Revere and impressing Chris Wallace with her seriousness, Sarah Palin also made some news in her interview this morning by acknowledging that she may have stole some of presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s spotlight while she was in New Hampshire. Palin tried to make it clear although she likes stepping on some people’s toes, Romney’s weren’t the toes she intended to step on.

This morning Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News Sunday and Chris Wallace did not hesitate to ask her about her recent version of historical events that left many a bit perplexed. Wallace said “you realized that you messed up about Paul Revere, don’t you?” Yet Palin informed Wallace, and by extension any of her critics, that in fact they were wrong to think that Revere did not also give a warning to the British.

While some well-respected conservatives are quickly brushing aside any speculation that Sarah Palin could be a serious contender for President, the man who first launched her into the national spotlight is unabashedly coming to her defense. Former Republican presidential candidate John McCain appeared on Fox News Sunday and declared Palin to be a “major factor” who “of course” can beat President Obama.

Herman Cain may have just slyly avoided his own “what newspapers do you read?” moment. After getting caught flat-footed on Fox News Sunday over his position on the Palestinian right of return, Cain returned to the network Monday and got a second chance to answer the question. Cain made no excuses: “I didn’t understand the right of return,” he told Sean Hannity, though sticking by his original answer.

Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann appeared with Chris Wallace this morning and whole-heartedly disagreed with President Obama’s strategy in Libya. However, being so strongly opposed to the President’s position, Bachmann found herself supporting her argument by citing a statistic from a Libyan official who works under Muammar Gaddafi. Such an odd tactic left Wallace scratching his head.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg appeared on Fox News Sunday and host Chris Wallace tried to get his opinion on whether he was still a “big fan” of Donald Trump. Bloomberg wiggled free from answering whether he likes the idea of Trump as a presidential candidate, but did stress that he thinks the Birther strategy is a losing one.

Although some like Sarah Palin and Mark Levin think the Tea Party should be disappointed or angry with the budget deal, most of the commentators on the Fox News Sunday panel think the Tea Party should be proud of what they accomplished. Only Juan Williams predicted Republicans misread their mandate by pursuing huge budget cuts and will pay for it in the future.

In addition to being frustrated with the White House, Chris Wallace interviewed likely Republican candidate for President Newt Gingrich and showed no mercy. Suggesting the excuse that Gingrich previously provided for his marital problems was “kinda lame,” Wallace asked, “you love your country and you’re working hard and so you strayed. That wouldn’t work with my wife?”

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defense Secretary Robert Gates made the rounds this morning talking about the ongoing conflict in Libya. However, one place they did not stop to chat was on Fox News Sunday. Host Chris Wallace noticed the snub and did not take it lying down.

Former Governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee appeared on Fox News Sunday and Chris Wallace grilled him over a potential food fight he’s having with big name conservatives regarding America’s obesity epidemic. Whereas Sarah Palin, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Rush Limbaugh all have criticized First Lady Michelle Obama‘s “nanny state” proposals to curb obesity, Huckabee instead defended her efforts.

In addition to getting serious about budget deficits and the debt ceiling, the conversation between Speaker of the House Boehner and Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday also expanded to include talking about two of Boehner’s most well-known characteristics: crying and smoking. Wallace asked bluntly, “why do you cry so often,” to which, Boehner almost cried again, right on cue.

Speaker of the House John Boehner appeared on Fox News Sunday and Chris Wallace grilled him on the seriousness of threats to shut down the government or to not raise the debt ceiling. Perhaps scared of “playing with fire,” Boehner agreed defaulting on the country’s debt would mean a financial disaster and claimed “I don’t think it’s a question that’s even on the table.”

Bill O’Reilly is really starting to get concerned about this John Boehner fellow’s emotional stability. Talking to guest Chris Wallace about his upcoming interview with the Speaker of the House, O’Reilly expresses something in between wonder and worry as to Boehner’s propensity to cry when discussing, well, a lot of things, and even wondered whether he could be an effective leader while maintaining his emotional openness.

Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie appeared on Fox News Sunday and made it very clear that he thinks his unique “straight talk” is not the type of political rhetoric that needs to be toned down. As evidenced during this interview, Christie’s language, which some may find coarse, is much more likely to spark laughter than violence, so fans of unpredictable and blunt commentary will continue to not be disappointed whenever Christie speaks.

Representative-elect Allen West from Florida appeared on Fox News Sunday and host Chris Wallace offered him an opportunity to back away from his past comments where he called the Democratic agenda a “left-wing, vile, vicious, despicable machine.” Instead, West chose to double-down reaffirming his belief that the government for the past two years has in fact been, “tyrannical, socialist, despicable,” because so much of the country’s production has been nationalized.

Looks like Dana Perino wasn’t the only one to impugn Sarah Palin’s intellect on yesterday’s Fox News Sunday. While the panel was predicting (or failing to predict) the 2012 Republican candidate, Juan Williams pointed out that none of the prospects named so far could compete with Barack Obama charisma-wise except for Sarah Palin then adding, offhand, that she wouldn’t be able to compete with him intellect-wise. Ouch. Someone is totally gonna get chainsaw massacred.

On Fox News Sunday, former White House press secretary Dana Perino suggested somebody’s writing some of Sarah Palin‘s meatier foreign policy musings–and it’s not Sarah Palin.

“It doesn’t sound like her when you read the materials,” said Perino, who conceded it’s hardly uncommon for politicians to have ghostwriters.

Senator Tom Coburn appeared on Fox News Sunday and sounded the alarm bills for out of control government spending and how the nation’s debt very well could be the end of the American way of life as we know it. Coburn’s rare bluntness might be related to the fact that he also announced he will strictly adhere to a self-imposed limit and not run for re-election in 2016 after he completes his second term as Senator. Therefore, since he never needs to face the voters again, he doesn’t need to sugarcoat his message that basically America is in serious trouble.

On Fox News Sunday today, Senator Dick Durbin discussed the recent increase in filibustering in the Senate, and the possibility of changing filibuster rules in the new Congress next month. “It’s a clear abuse of what was supposed to be a rarely used procedural option,” Durbin responded. “We need to put an end to secret holes in the United States Senate. It’s archaic, it’s wrong, we need more transparency.”

On Fox News Sunday today, host Chris Wallace brought up the subject of the 9/11 First Responders bill, which would provide healthcare coverage to those who were first responders at the scene on 9/11. Senator Jon Kyl told Wallace “It’s a lot of money, so my early response is that I am skeptical about that bill.”
