Michelle Obama: People Have Painted False Image Of Me As ‘Some Angry Black Woman’

First Lady Michelle Obama spoke with CBS This Morning host Gayle King to address some image issues she’s had to deal with during her husband’s time in the White House… and his possible role in that.

CBS This Morning Debuts With Much Fluff Despite Branding Itself As Newsier

gayle-charlierose VIDEO

After spiking The Early Show and starting from scratch in favor of a newsier format (or, in their own words, “a more substantive alternative”), This Morning debuted with much of the same content that most likely would’ve been featured on the old show.

Television host and seasoned interviewer Charlie Rose joins radio and television personality Gayle King as two of the newest editions to the revamped edition of CBS’ Early Show.

Bill O’Reilly Defends Asking President Obama About People Who Hate Him

oreilly_obama video

In the hours that preceded Sunday night’s Super Bowl, President Obama sat down for a live (and lively) interview with Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. Last night’s O’Reilly Factor was fittingly almost entirely dedicated to dissection of the back and forth, or in O’Reilly’s terms, “was the interview pinheaded or patriotic?” The Fox News anchor took on criticism over his asking of Obama if he was “disturbed that some people hate (him.)”

Oprah Winfrey Releases A “Sneak Peak” At Her OWN New Network

Picture 7 video

So what will Oprah Winfrey‘s OWN–set to launch January first–look like? The Oprah Winfrey Network released a sneak peak video today, and it contains a lot of familiar faces from Oprah’s long-running daytime TV show, including Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz.

The details are still mostly under wraps, with only tiny tidbits being hinted at in the 72-second teaser video. Oprah says “this is it,” and Sarah, Duchess of York says “it’s great… it’s exciting to be part of OWN.”

Moved To Tears: Oprah Tells ABC’s Barbara Walters: “I’m Not A Lesbian”

Picture 7 video

Daytime TV Queen–and soon to be cable channel honcho–Oprah Winfrey can talk to anyone about anything, but rarely opens up about her own life. So it was all the more surprising when she broke down during an interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters.

In an excerpt from her upcoming A Barbara Walters Special: Oprah, The Next Chapter, which airs Thursday night on ABC, Walters asked about the unusual bond between Oprah and best friend Gayle King.

Barack Obama Spent His Birthday With Oprah And Gayle, Among Others

oprah gayle obama

By now it’s old news that President Obama didn’t get to spend his 49th birthday with Michelle, Malia, or Sasha, who had prior engagements in Spain and at summer camp. As unfortunate as that may be, he managed to wrangle up a few high-profile media moguls (okay, one media mogul and her de facto celebrity friend) to go to dinner with him.

Spanish-Language Media Types Make Guest List, Lead To WH Press Corps Sniping

As one would expect for a state dinner involving Mexican President Felipe Calderon, the White House guest list will look familiar to those who regularly get their news from Spanish-language media or who follow the schedule of the world’s richest man, New York Times investor Carlos Slim.

Oprah, Kitty Kelly, and…Thomas Jefferson? Mediaite’s Rachel Sklar on Joy Behar with Bonnie Fuller and Michael Musto

Rachel Sklar

Last night, I joined Bonnie Fuller and Michael Musto on the eponymous show of Joy Behar to talk about Kitty Kelley’s new tell-all (or, more accurately, tell-some) book about Oprah Winfrey. There was revelation (Oprah’s mom won’t tell her who her biological father is), skepticism (while Kelley concluded reluctantly that there was no evidence to [...]

Time‘s Person of the Year: Usually A Person (Sometimes)

It’s time again for Time magazine to choose their “Person of the Year” — but it may not be a person! An esteemed panel including Dr. Oz thinks it might be Twitter or The Economy. What are the chances? Phil Bump doesn’t like taking chances, so he breaks it all down by statistical probability: How likely is it that the Time “Person of the Year” will actually be … a person?

National Enquirer is Back: “Oprah X-Rated Cruise”

The National Enquirer is back! Yesterday they reported how a Mediterranean cruise Oprah had booked for her staff turned into a scene from The Jerry Springer Show. Plus, no sign of Stedman. Tongues are wagging!
