On last night’s Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert got George Stephanopoulos to open up about how he got Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney to say that states have the constitutional right to outlaw contraceptives during Saturday night’s debate.

Appearing on Good Morning America to promote his critically-acclaimed film, The Descendants, movie star George Clooney told host George Stephanopoulos that he was rooting for President Obama in 2012.

At Saturday night’s ABC News/WMUR Republican presidential debate at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, moderator George Stephanopoulos began to press former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on his claim to have created 100,000 jobs at Bain Capital, but after extracting a major admission from Romney about a glaring flaw in that calculation, Stephanopoulos mysteriously ignored it completely.

At tonight’s ABC News/WMUR Republican presidential debate at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney stumbled badly on a Constitutional question from moderator George Stephanopoulos, first trying to punt it to “our Constitutionalist” Ron Paul, then demonstrating painful ignorance about the issues of privacy and banning contraception. To his credit, George pursued him like Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive.

At tonight’s ABC News/WMUR Republican presidential debate at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) zinged Rep. Ron Paul when the Texas Congressman’s microphone fed back on him. Paul was in the midst of launching an attack on Santorum, and when the mic squealed, Santorum cracked, “It caught you not telling the truth, Ron.”

A week and a candidate removed from Iowa, and less than a week away from the make-or-break state of New Hampshire, six of the remaining Republican candidates (alas, Buddy Roemer was excluded yet again!) are reconvening at St. Anselm College for another debate. With all the talk of the ongoing battle between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, at least one person thinks the two will be able to patch it up. That person is Rob Lowe who predicted that the two front runners would become “the new Republican ticket” when stopping by Good Morning America.

Former Massachusetts governor (oh, and the winner last night in Iowa) Mitt Romney told Good Morning America‘s George Stephanopoulos just how his experience differs from that of “runner up” candidate Rick Santorum, noting that there is “nothing wrong” with the fact that Santorum has spent “most of life in the governmental sector,” but that “it’s very different, I think, if you want to get the economy going again.”

That changed this morning when Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos sat down with the mother of an alleged victim, identified in the report as “victim #1.” With her voice and image altered to protect her identity, the mother explained how her son came to reveal the reprehensible allegations at the center of this story.

On Tuesday, influential conservative pundit Erick Erickson launched a thermonuclear attack on Mitt Romney, the steady near-leader in the GOP presidential field. In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanpoulos, President Barack Obama conceded that in the approach to the 2012 election, “I am the underdog.” And although readily willing to acknowledge that Americans are “not better off” than they were four year ago and that the flagging economy will be his biggest obstacle, he showed little sign of concern. “I’m used to being the underdog,” he explained confidently. “At the end of the day people are going to ask — who’s got a vision?”

On last night’s Nightline, retired Justice John Paul Stevens told George Stphanopoulos that in his 34 and a half years of service, “I really think that I’ve thought over a lot of cases I’ve written over the years.  And I really wouldn’t want to do any one of them over.” Except for maybe one: the 1976 Jurek v. Texas case wherein the death penalty was upheld as not cruel and unusual. ”I think that I came out wrong on that,” he says.

“The President has a package, and the package works together,” said top Obama strategist David Axelrod ABC’s Good Morning America, insisting, as the White House adamantly has, that congress pass the America Jobs Act quickly and in whole. “We want them to act now on this package,” he said. “We are not in negotiation to break up the package. And it’s not an a la carte menu. It’s a strategy to get this country moving.”

Though Donald Trump announced that he would not be running for president a few months ago, he has continued to make the sort of comments that have kept him in the political sphere (and brought him the public attention he craves.) For reasons that aren’t necessarily clear to everyone, there are some who believe that Trump’s political insight is worth heeding, and one such individual is GOP frontrunner and current Texas Governor Rick Perry.

In the movie version of his life, George Stephanopoulos would be played by George Clooney. At least, that’s what the Good Morning America co-host’s wife, Ali Wentworth, told Stephanopoulos’ 1,724,844 followers this morning. “And I would be played by Gisele Bunchen,” she added. The summer “just for fun” stunt led dozens of GMA fans to tweet questions about the dark-haired host, and Wentworth was more than happy to provide the dirt. Like what? Well, we learned that the politically-obsessed Stephanopoulos is “more of a nude surfer,” and a guy who “loves to disco dance.” Also, “he never sleeps.”

Donald Trump (“The Donald”) managed to the the topic of a national (media) obsession earlier this year when he hinted that he might possibly perhaps consider running for president as a potential GOP candidate. Now, he’s got the rumor mill churning again with chatter that he may yet run — as a 3rd party candidate. In an interview with Good Morning America‘s George Stephanopoulos, Trump hinted (again) that he “might” run with a 3rd party should Republicans not choose the “right” candidate. Stephanopoulos wondered what that meant, and went down the list of front-runners to see how Trump felt about each. As it turned out, if Trump hasn’t met you in person, he can’t possibly consider voting for you (a common thread throughout the interview whenever Stephanopoulos mentions a politician’s name).

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg stopped by GMA this morning and urged critics of President Obama to stop looking to blame him for America’s economic troubles and to start focusing on the future and how to fix the problem. “We don’t have the luxury of focusing on the next election,” Bloomberg warned while confirming once again that he will definitely not be running for President as an Independent in 2012.

Glenn Beck was not pleased with Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann’s interview on Good Morning America yesterday. Yet while many focused on the debate between Bachmann and George Stephanopoulos regarding whether or not John Quincy Adams was a Founding Father, Beck concluded Stephanopoulos was a “hack” for an entirely different exchange.
