Glenn Beck and his radio crew couldn’t stop laughing today when they played back clips of Chris Matthews talking on Hardball and using words that were only barely recognizable. Matthews kept slurring his words, saying “Prez Obama” instead of “President Obama,” “Hardbo” instead of “Hardball” and “debt seeing” instead of “debt ceiling,” which prompted Beck to worry “I don’t think alcoholism is funny.”

Don Lemon‘s heated interview with Sen. Rand Paul on Sunday over the weekend’s budget debate earned him as many accolades as complaints from viewers, and Lemon made no apologies for keeping the Senator on topic without delving into talking points. This morning, Glenn Beck had little good to say about the interview, as he noted that, while he had asked similar questions of Republicans, the attitude Lemon took to Sen. Paul was “condescending” and counterproductive.

Man, John McCain has certainly not done himself any favors with the Conservative media by insulting the Tea Party during the debt ceiling debate. Following responses from Sean Hannity and Christine O’Donnell, Glenn Beck and his co-hosts, Stu Burguiere and Pat Gray, absolutely lit into the former presidential candidate on their radio show this morning.

Yesterday, Glenn Beck inspired quite a bit of outrage when he seemed to compare the Norwegian youth camp where dozens of teenagers were killed this past weekend to the “Hitler Youth” because of its political focus. And when is it too soon to voice your misgivings about the nature of the youth camp that was the place of the horrific terrorist shootings in Norway? For that last example, many would say that a few days later is too soon.

Mediaite isn’t typically fertile ground for stories on Chad Ochocinco, the eccentric football star known to (besides changing his name to what we hope he does not think means “eighty-five” in Spanish) hang out with Bill Clinton and running a fictional news network. But today, waiting in the airport, he seems to have found a strange and quite polarizing bedfellow: Glenn Beck, whose book he has begun to read and classified as “#EPIC.”

Glenn Beck tackled the News Corp. phone hacking scandal on his radio show today in an entertaining discussion that somehow managed to turn the death of the phone hacking whistleblower and unfair attacks on Fox News into a sarcastic conclusion that Vladimir Putin is actually behind it all and that GBTV might be the last hope for a truly free press.

The Communist Party USA is the sort of fringe third party that rarely gets any attention in the national spotlight, but a recent speech by a party leader asserting that the group seeks to “reclaim” the Fourth of July as their holiday landed them squarely in Glenn Beck‘s crosshairs. On his radio program today, Beck played a clip of the speech and warned that, just as the Communists were trying “reclaim” Independence Day,” they were after American history.

Well, no one thought this would be easy. Today on his radio show, Glenn Beck announced that he’s been forced to move his upcoming Restoring Courage rally to a different part of Israel due to “security concerns.” Explaining how serious the situation was and how seriously he and his extensive security team were taking it, Beck described how, before his rally in Washington DC last year, he worried that any incident would cause a “civil war” in the country. If something went wrong this time, however, Beck cautioned it would cause “World War III.”

The appeal of Fox News’ Red Eye is that it often is an anything-goes nightly discussion of whatever topic host Greg Gutfeld presents to his panel. Last night, Bob Beckel joined his The Five co-host, and demonstrated just how much freedom Red Eye guests are granted. Beckel, clearly bored with the designated topic, somehow managed to turn the conversation about an offensive character in the movie Breakfast At Tiffany’s, into an enjoyable tirade.

If you like watching real estate shows–and love (or hate) Glenn Beck, then this is for you: a “video tour” of Beck’s new digs in Dallas. Yes, yay! From the looks of the video uncovered by Gawker, the place seems nice enough, though hardly over the top. It’s got a wine fridge and stainless steel appliances, a bunch of windows and some nice outdoor space. Lots of room to plot the future of GBTV. We’re told Beck will be leasing the property, but–naturally–he has an option to buy should he absolutely, positively fall in love with the place.

In case it hasn’t been made clear, the love affair between Glenn Beck and New York City is over. However, who’d have thunk that he’d have taken his dislike for us East Coast elites so far as to pack up shop and head across the country? Well, apparently a lot of people. Today on his radio show (recorded not in New York but in Israel) Beck revealed what he’s been hinting at for a while: he’s moving his shows to Texas.

Last month, it was reported that in anticipation of his August “Restoring Courage” rally in Israel, Glenn Beck would be sitting down before the Israeli Knesset’s Immigration, Absorption, and Diaspora Affairs Committee, raising many questions as to what he would say and how he would be received. Introduced by an extremely appreciative Knesset Member Danny Danon, Beck explained that his rally was meant to inspire America to learn from Israel, and quoted the Bible to express his solidarity to the nation.

Democratic political strategist and co-host of the new Fox News show The Five, Bob Beckel, spoke with Don Imus this morning and attempted to promote his new role. Yet he may have been a bit too blunt with his expectations, revealing that he doubts any of Glenn Beck‘s audience will stick around and watch his new show in the same time slot.

Glenn Beck‘s time at Fox News Channel as a daily host is now officially over, and on Reliable Sources Howard Kurtz asked his guest Gail Shister, columnist at TVNewser and fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, how relevant Beck might remain in the future with his new online venture? Shister predicted, “I don’t think that he will become a part of the daily conversation like he is now.”

It’s been a week since New York Times columnist David Carr referred to middle Americans with “low-sloping foreheads” on Real Time with Bill Maher. One of the first pundits to react to the story was Glenn Beck, and now one of Carr’s fellow panelists from last week’s show has weighed in on the controversy.

Journalist David Cohn is a self-described “liberal, intellectual, communist, media-elite, Jew-bastard from San Francisco.” And yet, unlike most of his “media-elite, SF, communist bastard friends,” he never missed Glenn Beck‘s show on Fox News. At least, not for the last year or so. Cohn says he wasn’t seeking out evidence for a liberal indictment of Beck, nor was it all a blogger’s stunt. “I’ve always been open to varying opinions. In fact, I seek them out,” Cohn writes. “This is not me on a journalism high-horse. It’s genuinely who I am. I don’t necessarily like arguing (I’m not a comment troller that goes around picking political fights) but I like to try and understand people and their motivating factors.”

For many for whom Glenn Beck was a program dedicated to misinformation and paranoia, today was a particularly good day. MSNBC’s Cenk Uygur couldn’t contain his glee at Glenn Beck wrapping up his final show today, dedicating to the former Fox News host a montage of controversial clips that “almost makes me tear up,” and discussing with guest Eric Boehlert how Media Matters explains their advertising boycott led to the end of the program.

In a bizarre turn of events, the most prominent topic on Glenn Beck‘s last week on the program wasn’t the impending progressive threat or the corruption of the Obama administration, but how a bunch of obnoxious New York liberals may have spilled wine on his wife. On last night’s/this morning’s Red Eye, the panel didn’t doubt the story, calling the witness admitting to her friend spilling wine “stupid for doing so,” but also questioned why Beck thought he could survive such a public appearance.

While the first three quarters of Glenn Beck’s last show on Fox News was all about the past (with a brief detour to take shots at Jon Stewart for some reason), he eventually began talking about the future. He talked about a new venture to be revealed later tonight entitled Mercury One (presumably the charity program we first heard about here) and explained why he would choose to leave Fox News, the “best platform” around.

While treated with most eyes as a completely serious political commentator, Glenn Beck has spent a good deal of his career trying to explain to those who don’t get it that he is, for the most part, a sort of right-wing Jon Stewart. Taking that analogy to its logical (?) conclusion, Beck spent a segment on his final show today analyzing the statistics he believes prove his staff to be superior to that of his “competitor”: he talks for twice as long, with less than half the number of writers.

“This is the last episode of The Glenn Beck Program and we’ve really done some amazing things together.”

Thus Glenn Beck began the first part of his final episode on Fox News. Like the rest of the episode, the opening was a nostalgic celebration of the show. He played a video featuring a montage of bloopers, highlights, and messages from fans on the street.

Fox News has announced summer plans for their Five PM hour, soon to be left vacant by Glenn Beck‘s departure after today. The cable news network will feature a new replacement show through the summer that is explained as an ensemble news program called The Five. The show will feature a number of rotating Fox News personalities familiar to their audience including Juan Williams, Monica Crowley, Greg Gutfeld , Dana Perino and Bob Beckel (among others.)
