Political mastermind and reality TV star Donald Trump visited the set of Good Morning America, where he discussed GOP candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, particularly where their personal wealth is concerned.

On Thursday, HLN host Nancy Grace joined ABC legal analyst and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams on Good Morning America to discuss — and disagree on — the pregnancy rumors floated by Casey Anthony‘s defense. Namely, the idea that her own dad, George Anthony, had fathered Caylee Anthony.

Appearing on Good Morning America to promote his critically-acclaimed film, The Descendants, movie star George Clooney told host George Stephanopoulos that he was rooting for President Obama in 2012.

Gary Giordano, the main suspect in the disappearance of Robyn Gardner, his companion on a trip to Aruba, was released by authorities on Tuesday after serving over 100 days in an Aruban jail. Thursday morning, he took part in his first televised interview since the arrest, on Good Morning America, in an alternatively odd and brusque interview with Robin Roberts.

Early Thursday morning, Mediaite founder Dan Abrams appeared on Good Morning America, alongside Nancy Grace, to discuss the Conrad Murray verdict. At the very end of their segment, Abrams went off-topic and congratulated Grace on her Dancing With The Stars success, mentioning her now-famous cartwheel. As the show went to break, Grace told Abrams to unbutton his shirt, because he was going to do one.

Closing arguments began this week in the Conrad Murray case, and Good Morning America brought in their “legal dream team” to assess the situation. Mediaite founder Dan Abrams and HLN’s Nancy Grace butted heads in their analysis of the case. “Nobody’s on trial because it’s not a crime to be awake. It’s a crime to be dead by having propofol shot into your dead body until all of your organs are saturated with a powerful, surgical anesthetic that is not to be used outside the operating room. Those guys didn’t know what they were talking about!” exclaimed Grace. “It’s actually not a crime to be putting drugs into a dead body,” Abrams snarkily rebutted. “But if you put it in a live body, that is a crime.”

Democratic strategist James Carville appeared on Good Morning America this morning to assess the current crop of front runners in the GOP presidential field and was not shy in his both predictable and entertainingly harsh criticism of his ideological foes. Herman Cain and Mitt Romney were both targeted, but it was Texas Governor Rick Perry, who has seen a rather enormous dip in recent polls, that received the most merciless review.

Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly visited Good Morning America to offer his take on the GOP presidential field so far, as well as whether he believes Obama’s new tactics will work to get him re-elected (Hint: NOPE.), and what sort of person would fare well.

Dr. Mehmet Oz is a real doctor, with real-life credentials and experiences. As a TV doctor, however, he often shares with his viewers real-life health concerns, like unhealthy amounts of arsenic in store bought apple juice. Dr. Oz appeared on GMA this morning and received a remarkably heated challenge from ABC News chief health and medical editor Dr. Richard Besser which included accusations of “fear mongering” and “irresponsible reporting.”

Muammar Gaddafi, “has become, for all intents and purposes, a part of Libya’s past and now people need to look to build Libya’s better future,” Assistant Secretary of State Jeffrey Feltman said, sounding hopeful, on Good Morning America today. During the brief interview conducted from Cairo, he furthered President Barack Obama‘s assessment that Gaddafi’s regime is “absolutely” past it’s tipping point, but reminded GMA host George Stephanopoulos that, even when you are the highest ranking official on the ground, verified information is scarce.

In the movie version of his life, George Stephanopoulos would be played by George Clooney. At least, that’s what the Good Morning America co-host’s wife, Ali Wentworth, told Stephanopoulos’ 1,724,844 followers this morning. “And I would be played by Gisele Bunchen,” she added. The summer “just for fun” stunt led dozens of GMA fans to tweet questions about the dark-haired host, and Wentworth was more than happy to provide the dirt. Like what? Well, we learned that the politically-obsessed Stephanopoulos is “more of a nude surfer,” and a guy who “loves to disco dance.” Also, “he never sleeps.”

Donald Trump (“The Donald”) managed to the the topic of a national (media) obsession earlier this year when he hinted that he might possibly perhaps consider running for president as a potential GOP candidate. Now, he’s got the rumor mill churning again with chatter that he may yet run — as a 3rd party candidate. In an interview with Good Morning America‘s George Stephanopoulos, Trump hinted (again) that he “might” run with a 3rd party should Republicans not choose the “right” candidate. Stephanopoulos wondered what that meant, and went down the list of front-runners to see how Trump felt about each. As it turned out, if Trump hasn’t met you in person, he can’t possibly consider voting for you (a common thread throughout the interview whenever Stephanopoulos mentions a politician’s name).

Former Delaware Senate candidate and Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell visited Good Morning America today to promote her new book, Troublemaker: Let’s Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again, and to discuss how conservative candidates, particularly women, are treated differently. Oh, and she talks about her… bewitching… introduction into the pop culture spotlight. (Is it Friday yet?)

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg stopped by GMA this morning and urged critics of President Obama to stop looking to blame him for America’s economic troubles and to start focusing on the future and how to fix the problem. “We don’t have the luxury of focusing on the next election,” Bloomberg warned while confirming once again that he will definitely not be running for President as an Independent in 2012.

Rapper/singer Nicki Minaj paid a visit to Good Morning America and suffered a little bit of a wardrobe malfunction, as might be expected when wears a teeny tiny itty bitty little tank top held up with double-sided tape and a prayer.

Lost in a sea of debt ceiling sturm and drang is another news story that has been overlooked by many in the press, a potentially resolved mystery that has captivated the nation’s attention and has even been the focus of a feature film in the earlys’80s. It’s the story of D.B. Cooper, the alleged skyjacker of a commercial flight in the early 70s, who has been a legend of mythic proportions and, thus far, an unsolved case. Until now, perhaps, thanks to a Marla Cooper, who is the niece of Lynn Doyle Cooper, who she believes is the real D.B. Cooper.

On Good Morning America Friday, ABC’s Jake Tapper described the reaction from the White House to last night’s failure by Speaker John Boehner to get his plan to a vote. Tapper said the situation now is “all about power plays…all the House Republicans have done is waste time.” As the clock ticks toward and August 2d deadline, Tapper’s White House sources expressed frustration, with one describing it as “Mad Hatter time” on Capitol Hill.

In her first television interview, the hotel maid who accused former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of trying to sexually assault her has spoken to Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts. In the exclusive, Nafissatou Diallo recounts what she says happened in the hotel room at the center of the scandal, and tells Roberts she wants justice. “I want him to go to jail.” The interview, which aired first on GMA this morning, will continue on ABC World News and Nightline.

This week’s headline-grabbing Paris Hilton interview by ABC’s Dan Harris got most of the attention for the reality star’s decision to walk out mid-chat rather than address Harris’ question–has your “moment” passed? But as Conan O’Brien discovered, there was an equally significant revelation in the interview–that Hilton’s on-camera voice is, basically, a put-on. In a clip aired on Conan Thursday night, Hilton ditches the baby voice and breathy whine and reveals–for the first time on camera–her real voice. And, well, it’s probably best that she sticks with the baby talk.

Who would have thought that so much incorrect information could be shared on the internet? A day after the now-infamous “not guilty” verdict in the Casey Anthony case, Twitter user sexxxykarin (so right away, we know it’s coming from a truly reliable source of information) sent out tweets claiming to know who one of the jurors was. Well, since everyone that day was acting in a calm, reasonable state of mind, the natural reaction was to… go ballistic.

Former President Bill Clinton, in an exclusive interview with ABC’s Jake Tapper, proposes a ten-year plan to address the nation’s economy, but fears Republicans won’t buy into the plan because GOP “ideological conviction” won’t allow them to compromise. “When I passed my budget in 1993, they routinely said it would bring on a terrible recession, [that] it was the end of capitalism as we knew it,” he said. “And we had the best eight years in our history. But they just kept saying it. You’ve got to give them credit. The evidence doesn’t deter them. It’s an ideological conviction. So, I don’t know that it can be resolved until there’s some break in the action.”

Michelle Bachmann appeared on GMA today and was respectfully confronted by host George Stephanopoulos over what PolitiFact has deemed “false statements” the GOP presidential candidate made in the past, particularly her claim that America’s “founders” had “worked tirelessly” to end slavery. Bachmann doubled down, specifically citing the efforts of John Quincy Adams. When Stephanopoulos pointed out that this Adams was not, in fact, a founding father, Bachmann reiterated that as a boy, he “certainly was a part of the Revolutionary War era.” Gotcha?
