Cee Lo, Puppets And Gwyeth Paltrow Impossibly Add Up To Grammy Gold

Grammy1 video

Cee Lo Green had one of the most infectious songs of the last year called F*ck You, but the original iteration made it impossible for radio and broadcast television to embrace. No problem, Green quickly re-cut a different version, rebranding it as Forget You, so that innocent ears of broadcast television viewers could enjoy the pop confection. On tonight’s Grammy Awards more than made up for the censoring of original version, adding feathers, puppets and an oddly cast Gwyneth Paltrow.

Born This Way: Lady Gaga Emerges From A Giant Egg For Grammy’s Performance

Image1 Video

Hot extraterrestrial Lady Gaga performed her new single “Born This Way” at tonight’s Grammy Awards and put on a pretty solid show – albeit a much, much tamer one than last year’s (Alas, no blood shed this time around). The pop singer emerged from a giant egg dressed in a form fitting, flesh-colored dress and waving around a pastel pink ponytail. She then played an organ (jokes to yaselves, please) adorned with gleaming, translucent heads wearing women’s faces.

Must See TV: Stephen Colbert Has Vampire Weekend And The Black Keys In A “Sell-Out-Off”

Colbert Sell Out Off video

There have been a lot of great musical segments on late night recently thanks to all the hosts who also like to strum a guitar (examples: Jimmy Fallon, Conan O’Brien), however, one of the most terrifically bizarre occurred last night on The Colbert Report. Stephen Colbert needed help deciding how to vote for this year’s Grammys, so he brought on both members of The Black Keys as well as Vampire Weekend-frontman Ezra Koenig so that the two bands could have a “sell-out-off.” Then everyone grabbed weapons for some reason and started a fight to the death.

The Roots Jam is Grammy Week’s Best Party

The Roots Grammys

The Roots are one of music’s most enduring hip-hop bands, precisely because of their chameleon-like musical artistry perfected over a decade and a half. And they throw one hell of a Grammy party.

Pink, Wet & Naked High Above The Grammy Stage (VIDEO)

Pink Grammy Awards 2010

There was Gaga and there was Beyonce, there was Taylor Swift and there was the Zac Brown Band, but soaring high above the rest of the 2010 Grammy Awards was a woman whose performance was daring, but beautiful and affecting — even though she was damn near to naked and hanging from a sling as [...]

Grammys Fashion: Hits And Misses, And Plenty Of Yawns

blogSpan-v2

It’s always been my understanding that the Grammys are Hollywood’s Halloween of sorts. For one night, all bets are off. You can stray from safe, bring the hem line up, and add an inch (or 5) on your heel. Alas, this year’s Grammy’s seemed to pull a page from the always safe Oscars: a bunch of yawns, and too many huge misses. Here’s a look at the best (and worst!) of what the red carpet had to offer tonight.

Lady Gaga and Elton John At The Grammys: Two Giants, One Piano, Many Sequins

Gaga and Elton

The Grammys kicked off tonight with the union of two epic figures of music and fabulosity: Lady Gaga and one of the giants upon whose shoulders she stands on in Alexander McQueen platform shoes, Elton John. “How wonderful life is with Gaga in the world,” sang Elton, playing on the lyrics to his seminal ballad, [...]

Grammy Awards 2010: Beyonce vs. Taylor vs. Gaga, and Other Showdowns

Gaga

Here’s the central question of tonight’s Grammy awards: Was Kanye right? Is Taylor Swift all well and good, but did BeyoncĂ© have the best video of all time — and the best record, album, song, female pop performance? Or will everyone be gaga for Gaga? And how often do you think “gaga for Gaga” will [...]
