Sources from the DA’s office say they don’t believe the claims against Greg Kelly, calling it a “bunch of bullsh**”.

The newspaper reports:

‘It sounds like she got caught [cheating] by her boyfriend, and then he forces her hand: “If you’re not lying, you better report”.’

The DA’s office are said to be suspicious of the woman’s claims for a number of reasons.

The source told the Post: ‘The length of time (she took to complain) is a problem.

‘And you don’t communicate with someone who raped you.’

Another law-enforcement source said: ‘The fact pattern is very suspicious . . . It just reeks of bull sh**.’

The Manhattan district attorney is investigating the serious allegations, as an NYPD probe could be seen as a conflict of interest.

Kelly was off-the-air Thursday morning, and a spokeswoman for Fox 5 said he “requested some time off.”

ABC News Legal Analyst And Mediaite founder Dan Abrams noted on Good Morning America that Kelly has yet to be formally charged by authorities, and that woman’s allegations constitute a formal complaint, not a charge.

The unnamed woman says Kelly raped her at the law office where she works, although Kelly has denied the allegations though his attorney and says he is cooperating with the District Attorney’s investigation.

Abrams noted that Kelly has yet to be formally charged by authorities, and that woman’s allegations constitute a formal complaint, not a charge. He added that Kelly’s legal team will likely focus on three things: The time lag between when the alleged crime occurred and when the alleged victim filed her complaint against Kelly, the fact that the two continued to communicate after the alleged crime, and the woman’s angry boyfriend. Because the world is watching (and because of who Kelly’s father is), he added, the DA will likely be extremely careful about keeping everything above board and by the book.

And in this particular case, he said, it isn’t so much that a high profile name will be given the benefit of the doubt so much as is case will be given extra attention and care.

It’s a rule of course in local news that when weather strikes, reporters must be sent out to endure it–and the more visibly they can suffer, the better. Hence reporters in rainstorms, blizzards and heatwaves. So WNYW-TV reporter Dick Brennan, being ever the good sport (I had the pleasure of working with Dick at Fox 5 back in the day), ventured out into steamy New York City to talk to folks braving the heat in Central Park. And that’s all pretty much by the numbers. Runners say remember to hydrate, Brennan rolls up his shirtsleeves, and then he makes a point of walking directly into a huge sprinkler, dousing himself from head to toe. Wait, what?

Usually, reporters and sprinklers only connect on live television by accident. But in this case, a possibly overheated and giddy Brennan soaked himself on purpose, leaving Good Day New York co-hosts Rosanna Scotto and Greg Kelly wondering if, you know, Dick’s okay out there. Adding to the strange liveshot is the appearance of a massive truck hauling Port-o-Lets that blocks the camera’s view entirely.

Faux-mocking Kelly for not commanding as much money for academic speeches as Snooki at the end of a segment, Scotto apparently inadvertently opened the floodgates of scorn for the two of them. Kelly couldn’t help repeat that, yes, those $32,000 are going to the very same “rude, profane, self-indulgent, and obnoxious Snooki” to speak, following up with the observation, “I’ve never really heard her talk, and I’ve actually interviewed her.”

The two anchors then began to recall the time Snooki visited the set for that interview, with Scotto vividly recalling, “remember when she came here that day with the bottle of booze in the bag?” After a bit of bashfulness at having that revealed on the air, Kelly replied, “she was on the cookie diet… she didn’t have that much to say about the cookie diet.” Scotto noted that, for being on a diet, it was weird that “she didn’t lose any weight.” The impromptu Snooki roast is interrupted by a third anchor, who interjects that “we’re going to revisit the situation now” to groans, though it’s unclear whether she actually meant to invoke Mike Sorrentino.

Today Greg Kelly was back on Fox News to talk about his experience as “the first TV journalist to enter Iraq” on April 5, 2003 when the war officially began.

“It’s wild to hear that sounds again,” said Kelly after hearing some of the clips of his 2003 reporting. “I remember saying ‘we’ll be here for awhile.’ I remember that moment very well.”

Martha MacCallum asked Kelly if he thought, when he left in May 2003, that the war would be winding down. “We really wanted it to be over, but of course it wasn’t,” he said. Kelly returned in 2003 and 2005 to cover the war in Iraq. He also said he isn’t sure yet how President Bush will be remembered for the decision to go to Iraq in the first place, and the subsequent strategy.

Kelly had been an anchor and reporter with Fox news before moving to the local New York FOX affiliate. He currently hosts the morning show Good Day New York.

Anchors Rosanna Scotto and Greg Kelly chat a bit in amazement at the American Idol finale and at how Michaels’ performance did not betray his illness, when Kelly suddenly asks “was that a hoax? I wonder.” Scotto replied that it was “a hell of a hoax to pull off, pretending to die,” but Kelly insists, with a bit of humor in his voice, that “we think it’s a hoax.” This is either a sad statement as to what the publicity world has done to public trust, or a compliment to Michaels that he is such a good performer reporters don’t believe him when he goes to the hospital with a grave illness. When asked her opinion on Olivia this morning on Good Day New York, the 44-year-old hesitates at first, before taking a deep dig at the socialite by advising her to “leave your f**king attitude at the door.” The rant starts around the 0:35 mark. What’s equally entertaining is the quick attempted recovery made by Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto.
