What a difference a few weeks makes. It seems like only yesterday that new CNN host Piers Morgan and Howard Stern were best of friends celebrating Morgan’s great ratings with Stern as his guest. However, with Morgan’s ratings tumble, Stern is now unleashing his true thoughts about Morgan who he finds a “little bit strange”

Jerry Springer appeared on Howard Stern’s radio show yesterday and the conversation got around to Air America. Stern then asked why liberal talk shows never do as well and Springer had an interesting answer: “Because the Liberals won.”

The second night of Piers Morgan Tonight brought its host for the first time into his new set, and face-to-face with the King of All Media Howard Stern. Ahead of the interview’s airing Tuesday night, Piers Morgan took to Twitter to tweak his competitor at Fox News, Sean Hannity: “Msg to @seanhannity – if I don’t smack you down tonight with Howard, I’ll take you on Thursday with Ricky Gervais. love Piers x.”

Tomorrow night on Piers Morgan‘s new CNN show, an interview with the always unpredictable Howard Stern will air. Today though some of the controversial comments from the interview are leaking out and they include Stern repeating and amplifying his dislike for NBC‘s late night host Jay Leno.

Yesterday, Howard Stern had some harsh words for Sarah Palin about the tone of her video speech from Wednesday morning. Like many of Palin’s detractors, Stern felt that the former Governor focussed too much on herself and not enough on the actual victims. However, unlike most of the other criticisms of the video we’ve heard, Stern’s aforementioned words weren’t just harsh; a couple of them were those that one doesn’t use in polite company.

For decades, Larry King‘s iconic set–perhaps best described as a “Lite Brite map of the world” was as recognizable as the host himself. As CNN prepares to launch a new host into King’s 9 p.m. timeslot, much has been mentioned about the set, which will incorporate the ability for host Piers Morgan to have a live studio audience.

Kathy Griffin is back co-hosting CNN‘s New Year’s Eve special with Anderson Cooper, and if her recent appearance on Howard Stern‘s radio show is any indication, CNN might have a lot to fear. For the past two years, Stern accurately describes the “holiday tradition” of Griffin appearing on the CNN telecast, blurting out an inappropriate expletive, CNN apologizing and subsequently banning Griffin from the network, only to then bring Griffin back the next year.

Looks like America’s preeminent shock jock has still got some life in him. Howard Stern, the self-proclaimed King of All Media (remember that?), will extend his reign on satellite radio for another five years. Stern, who’d publicly doubted whether he’d stay on the radio after his contract with Sirus XM expired at the end of this year, has inked a new deal “for $100 billion,” he joked to Good Day New York. “I now own Rupert Murdoch.”

Megyn Kelly is officially “enjoying a moment.” She went on The Howard Stern Show this morning and showed that the shock jock is putty in her hands (not unlike Kelly’s cohort Bill O’Reilly.) During a breaking news update on the West Virginia coal mine disaster, Fox News anchor Shepard Smith informed the viewing audience that we were about to learn new of developments from a West Virgina Coal Mine spokesman. Alas – and predictably – instead we heard the caller call Jamie Foxx the worst word imaginable (in some circles, anyway). Oh Howard Stern fans – will your schtick ever grow tiresome? Actually, yes. Like right now for example.

Well the CBS Early Show bookers got what they hoped for when they booked radio icon Howard Stern to critique Jay Leno‘s first night back at 11:35.

It wasn’t so much of a specific review as a pass to unleash his hatred of the longtime NBC star.

We are big fans of Ali Velshi, and have long been proponents of what we deem to be a very bright future at CNN. That said – he is getting used to some of the guiding principles of live television. For example, if someone who has called into your show mentions Howard Stern, there is an extremely good chance that he is not who he purports to be. Secondly, by all means do not ask that caller a follow-up question, else you risk being called a “dumb ass” on live TV. Just like in this following video.

In the strange event you hear the claim that nobody could have predicted the crazy soap opera that has surrounded NBC late night programming, we submit the following clip. Over three years ago Howard Stern was a guest on Conan O’Brien’s show when it held the 12:30 slot. Howard mentions the news that Conan will take over for Leno, then asks Conan “Do you think that’s really going to happen?” He gets even more precise with his predictions later. Video inside!
