ABC affiliate WPBF is reporting that, according to local Florida attorney Spencer Kuvin, his client “Private Elevator Productions” (a group, he says, of “Hollywood producers who wants to remain anonymous”) has offered Anthony $1 million for an exclusive interview. He adds that Anthony agreed to the interview back in July, but that “since then, nothing.”

If someone flips by the Manhattan public access on Wednesday nights and catches The Chris Gethard Show, it’s unlikely that they’re going to say to themselves, “Ah, now here’s the future of television.” A goofy, low-budget show featuring a bunch of comedians and self-admitted weirdos taking calls from strange and sometimes hostile New York citizens doesn’t initially scream out “innovation.” However, for those that stick around, it gradually becomes clear that Chris Gethard and friends are doing something very interesting. In addition to airing in New York, the show is streamed live out on the Internet and is steadily building a devoted following of comedy nerds across the country. By combining the approach and aesthetic of a cult public access show with the streaming and interactive capabilities of a high-tech Internet property, the show has found a fascinating middle ground between the old and new. In a lengthy conversation, we talked to Gethard about the genesis of the show, his thoughts on public access and social media, and the crazy and wonderful people he shares the network with.

In case anyone were wondering, Nancy Grace is still angry. The fact that Casey Anthony is now a free woman seems to have lit an even brighter fire under Grace as she visited Piers Morgan tonight for an interview. Repeating that she was “let down” by the verdict, Grace took offence to Morgan suggesting she made the case “her own” and shot back at other lawyers who had spoken to Morgan and considered the verdict reasonable: “your experts are wrong.”

In her first interview since the day in 1991 when she was kidnapped, Jaycee Dugard described a life in captivity to ABC’s Diane Sawyer–saying she endured years of abuse and the birth of two children the best way she knew how. “You just do what you have to do to survive.” Dugard, who’s written a book about her life, shared for the first time the details of her abduction–a disappearance that haunted her family and frustrated police (who we learn came very close at times to finding her).

Dugard says she was walking to school when a car rolled up, the driver’s window went down, and her entire life changed:

Diane Sawyer has aired the first clip from her exclusive interview with Jaycee Dugard, the California girl kidnapped while walking to school in June of 1991 and held for 18 years. Dugard, now 31, has written a book about her experience, and she tells her story in a two-hour special on ABC Sunday at 9 p.m. In a preview that aired on ABC World News, Dugard tells Sawyer how she gave birth to a daughter–when she was 14–in the backyard prison where she was held. “Very painful, but then I saw her,” Dugard says. “She was beautiful. I felt like I wasn’t alone anymore.”

Rep. Anthony Weiner finally made his last media stop of the day, this time sitting down with Rachel Maddow– who interviewed Rep. Weiner just as his Twitter account released a skimpy underwear photo. Maddow was by far the least combative of his interviewers, and the approach seemed to have paid off. This time, instead of “I don’t know,” the Congressman told Maddow that it is possible that the photo was of him and had been “taken out of context.”

In order to gain additional perspective on the massive damage sustained by the town of Joplin, Missouri, we spoke with a former Joplin resident – TJ Holmes, host of the weekend morning edition of CNN Newsroom.

Holmes, who once worked for an NBC affiliate in Joplin as well as in other Southern cities dotted across “Tornado Alley,” told us that the damage to the city is so extensive that even one 20-year resident found himself losing his bearings.

British star Lily Allen isn’t interested in talking to Piers Morgan–either on his new CNN show Piers Morgan Tonight, or on his British show Life Stories–but she’s willing to negotiate. Allen, who went to Twitter to suggest “the terms” of her sitting for an interview, says it would cost “£1 million,” donated to “a charity that helps women overcome the kind of grief that I have had to experience.”

Allen recently revealed she was six months’ pregnant when she miscarried last year.

NBC’s Brian Williams has landed the first one-on-one interview with John Boehner after his official swearing in as the newest House speaker. The interview is set to air on NBC Nightly News this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET. According to a press release from NBC, the interview will show “exclusive details on Boehner’s recent transition to the most influential member of the 112th Congress, and the challenges ahead as he prepares to take on Obama’s Democratic policies.”

And that’s all well and good, of course, but Boehner attracts eyeballs (and, thus, either ratings or pageviews, depending on the medium) not only because he is stepping into an important, prestigious and influential role.
