Glenn Beck has spent most of the past week preparing his large “Restoring Courage” event in Israel, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been kept informed on the events here in America. On his program this morning, Beck parsed through the recent town hall comments by Rep. Maxine Waters, laughing at her for what he interpreted as ignoring the crowd in front of her, as well as ignoring the fact that “the President is intentionally dismantling the lower and middle class.”

Texas Governor Rick Perry is officially a candidate to the presidency in 2012.” “Howdy!” he shouted at the crowd, introducing them to his wife and high school girlfriend, promising them he would work to “make Washington, D.C. as inconsequential in your lives as I can” and set them “free from the shackles of an overbearing federal government.”

Well, no one thought this would be easy. Today on his radio show, Glenn Beck announced that he’s been forced to move his upcoming Restoring Courage rally to a different part of Israel due to “security concerns.” Explaining how serious the situation was and how seriously he and his extensive security team were taking it, Beck described how, before his rally in Washington DC last year, he worried that any incident would cause a “civil war” in the country. If something went wrong this time, however, Beck cautioned it would cause “World War III.”

Last month, it was reported that in anticipation of his August “Restoring Courage” rally in Israel, Glenn Beck would be sitting down before the Israeli Knesset’s Immigration, Absorption, and Diaspora Affairs Committee, raising many questions as to what he would say and how he would be received. Introduced by an extremely appreciative Knesset Member Danny Danon, Beck explained that his rally was meant to inspire America to learn from Israel, and quoted the Bible to express his solidarity to the nation.

With his tenure at Fox News winding down, Glenn Beck is gearing up for his “Restoring Courage” rally in Israel, and news sources covering his visit have now announced that the conservative TV and radio host will be addressing the Knesset’s Immigration, Absorption, and Diaspora Affairs Committee on several issues pertaining to the peace process.

The false charge that the President has “called for Israel to return to the 1967 borders” has come tripping off of many a tongue, including O’Donnell’s NBC News colleague Brian Williams, barely a day earlier.

The fallout over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s visit to the White House in which he boldly denied the negotiation request on the 1967 borders of his nation continues, as the night after Sean Hannity interviewed Netanyahu, Juan Williams came on the show to bash Netanyahu for his “act of arrogance” against President Obama, in the White House. The dynamic sparring session had Williams attacking the Mideast status quo while Hannity asserted the President was to blame for “sandbagging” Netanyahu.

The media firestorm surrounding President Barack Obama‘s Mideast policy speech and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s address to Congress inspired Lawrence O’Donnell to make his “Rewrite” tonight a crash course on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, playing select clips of both addresses and concluding both leaders are saying the same thing: the 1967 border are “not tenable.” “But you wouldn’t know that,” O’Donnell complained, “By listening to hysterics who wrongly believe they are rising in Israel’s defense.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it his goal to take America by storm during a visit that began with President Obama requesting Israel consider a return to 1967 borders. After an eventful speech earlier today, the Prime Minister sat down with Sean Hannity and made it clear he had no intention of backing down on his nation’s borders, asserting: “a peace you can’t defend is a peace that will not hold.”

Today, ABC News’ Jonathan Karl described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress as seeming like a “State of the Union address by a president with sky-high approval ratings” due in part to the numerous standing ovations the foreign leader received. This apparently gave Karl an idea. He went back and counted the number of applause breaks and compared it to the amount President Obama got during his last actual SOTU address. Guess who got more?

Oh. I guess the headline kind of gives the answer away. Oh well.

Activists from Codepink, the woman-led anti-war group, appeared at Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee gala last night to protest his position that re-implementing Israel’s borders as they were in 1967 would be “indefensible.”

Herman Cain may have just slyly avoided his own “what newspapers do you read?” moment. After getting caught flat-footed on Fox News Sunday over his position on the Palestinian right of return, Cain returned to the network Monday and got a second chance to answer the question. Cain made no excuses: “I didn’t understand the right of return,” he told Sean Hannity, though sticking by his original answer.

Chris Matthews was fascinated that many prominent Republicans would so publicly “line up with a foreign leader against the President of the United States,” as they did this past week when they chose to support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against the proposal suggested by President Obama. Matthews told Cynthia Tucker and Sam Stein that he thought this was “unusual,” yet neither guest seemed surprised, instead attributing it to Republicans playing politics as usual.

In an interview with PressTV of Iran, former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney said the Tea Party movement “was definitely hijacked.” McKinney, making her first visit to Iran to attend an anti-terrorism seminar, told her interviewer that there was “tremendous pressure inside the political process to make sure that the voters stay aligned inside either the Democratic or the Republican parties, because both of those parties have been captured by special interests.”

McKinney suggested the Tea Party was an example of a grassroots movement “hijacked” and then “corralled back into the Republican Party fold so that these could then stay where the powers that be would like them to be.” McKinney said Sarah Palin was a key part of that effort:

Joe Scarborough wondered if many in the Obama administration were living in a “dream-state” if they didn’t think Israel would be upset by the President’s recent comments suggesting Israel return to its pre-1967 borders in order to achieve peace. Scarborough disputed the narrative that this has been the same position of recent American presidents and argued if Hillary Clinton were President she would have known never to have publicly referenced pre-197 borders in this way.

President Obama spoke at AIPAC earlier today, the group self-identified as “America’s pro-Israel lobby” and received a great reaction. Despite some fearing that the relationship between Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have been damaged, Obama clarified his statement about Israel needing to return to its 1967 borders and Netanyahu expressed eagerness to continue working with Obama towards peace.

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain appeared on Fox News Sunday this morning and attempted to prove to the naysayers that he actually is a candidate that should be taken seriously. Yet Cain’s answers to a few questions from Chris Wallace may have left some viewers not sure what to think.

Glenn Beck thinks a second Holocaust is coming. As outlandish as that comment may sound, it is difficult to find any other meaning to his words on The O’Reilly Factor last night, where he declared “we’re headed down the same path” as 1933 and that, given Hamas and Hezbollah are “more blatant” than Hitler, his rally in Israel is a way to remind the world that they should be prepared to answer whether you are “willing to hide [a Jew] behind a wall in your house.”

President Obama delivered a comprehensive speech on the Middle East today at the State Department that urged both Israeli and Palestinian leaders to ignore the unsustainable “status quo” in the troubled area and focus on negotiating peace based on the of 1967. This has been a key demand of Palestinians and will be viewed by many as something of a bombshell for those representing Israeli political interests both in the Middle East and in the American political landscape.

You’ve probably heard at this point that Glenn Beck is on a bit of an Israel kick. That’s involved spending as much time as possible explaining to his viewers why they should care about the plight of our friends in the Middle East. One of the main ways he’s done that is by comparing the much touted “Arab Spring” occurring in the region to the rise of Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Of course, if the governments springing up in countries like Egypt are the Nazis, what does that make people like our President who is giving a speech supporting the “Spring” tomorrow morning? Well, Beck made his former insinuations clear by comparing President Obama and the Left to American Nazi appeasers of the last century.

Last night Ed Schultz joined the MSNBC bandwagon of laughing at Glenn Beck‘s idea to host a rally in Israel called “Restoring Courage.” Schultz was amazed at how “the arrogance just drips off this guy” and warned viewers that “his Fox News show may be coming to an end soon, but his ego is going global.”

Rachel Maddow discussed the sensitive issues regarding the ongoing Middle East peace process and concluded “everyone can agree that this particular moment in the Middle East is even more delicate than usual.” Yet she also realized that Glenn Beck is not like everyone.

This morning we got the surprising announcement that Glenn Beck would be following up last year’s rally in Washington, D.C. with another one all the way in Israel. And, despite a brief cold open relating to the debt ceiling, Beck spent his entire show today discussing the event. There were quotes from the Old Testament, comparisons of Israel’s current troubles to the Nazis, and even an extended interview with Nir Barkat, the Mayor of Jerusalem, himself. And, unsurprisingly, for you old school Beck fans out there, there was a moment when the host’s voice cracked as he explained the grave importance of what he intended to do.

Well, it looks like Glenn Beck wasn’t just checking out the sights in Israel last week, he was making plans. Beck had promised a “big announcement” on his radio show this morning and he certainly did not disappoint. This August, around a year after he took to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to “restore honor,” Glenn Beck will be “restoring courage” in Jerusalem! Hmmm…something tells us The Daily Show won’t be holding a counter rally this time…
