Well James Carville is at it again – blasting the Obama administration for policies that he feels “are killing the economy” in the Gulf Coast. The Louisiana native and Democratic strategist who worked closely with the Clinton administration has not demurred in his criticisms of how the current White House has handled the BP Oil Disaster.

This past weekend on Meet the Press, WH Press Secretary Robert Gibbs “stated the obvious” when he claimed that there “are enough seats in play” for the GOP to take the House this November. This, in turn, lead to House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi to reportedly call Gibbs “political inept” for the untoward remark. This story came up on Good Morning America, and Democratic strategist James Carville revealed that the Dems may need to rely on a higher authority to maintain a majority in the house.

New Orleans Federal Judge Martin Feldman just lifted the controversial six-month ban on offshore drilling imposed by the Obama administration following the BP spill in the Gulf. The residents of the embattled Gulf will likely be happy to hear this — many in the Gulf region from Gov. Bobby Jindal to James Carville have argued that the ban imposes unnecessary hardship on an economy that is already suffering due to lost revenue from the spill.

As much as any public figure Democratic strategist James Carville can probably take credit for leading the charge against the Obama administration’s apparent lack of action in the first weeks of the BP oil spill. Carville told GMA‘s George Stephanopoulos this morning that he thinks Obama’s address from the Oval Office tomorrow night (his first) is a chance for him to “hit the reset button.”

CNN contributor and Democratic strategist James Carville has been an extremely outspoken critic of Pres. Barack Obama and the administration in the wake of the BP oil spill.

But now he’s bashing defenders of Pres. Obama too – even if its his CNN colleague, Fareed Zakaria.

If last night’s “Miller Time” segment on the O’Reilly Factor proved anything, it’s that the current news cycle is finely tuned to bring out the best in Dennis Miller‘s sense of humor. He went one-on-one with Bill O’Reilly on a number of topics– the oil spill, the Joe Sestak job scandal, Sarah Palin‘s new neighbors– and not only managed to take a pretty hilarious stab at James Cameron, he got O’Reilly to use his best Cajun accent, too.

Former Democratic strategist and CNN analyst James Carville has been making a lot of noise against the White House for not getting the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico– near Carville’s Louisiana home– under control for the past couple of weeks, but until now has not been referenced by the White House directly. Now, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has responded, saying that he doesn’t “understand all of what we’re doing.”

Perhaps Chris Matthews started worrying he was being outshined in the tirade department by James Carville. Just ahead of President Obama’s press conference earlier today Matthews went on his own rant about how the Louisiana coast line is “part of our birthright, with the Grand Canyon, with Niagara Falls, with Yosemite.” And then he directed this zinger at Obama.

James Carville, who has been making the media rounds this week, was back on the air this morning talking to former Clinton campaign co-worker George Stephanopoulos about the lack of action and accountability on the part of the Obama administration with regards to the BP Oil Spill. Actually he was less talking than railing. Does Carville have an eye on CNN 8pm?

The President Obama/BP Oil Spill pile continues! It’s starting to feel like the new media sporting event. Over at CNN last night James Carville continued his tirade calling for “heads to roll” and the normally low key David Gergen noted that “if our government had fought WWII like the way we’re fighting the oil spill, there’s a good chance many of us would be speaking German today.”

As a native Louisianan, James Carville has been affected more than most TV pundits by the seemingly interminable Gulf of Mexico oil leak, and he has been appearing regularly on CNN pleading with President Barack Obama to become more involved in the efforts to stop it. Tonight on Larry King Live, Carville didn’t seem as upset with the Obama administration as before, but, rather, concerned for the President, who he says has been misled and, having the power to make a signficant difference, has not done so.

The BP Oil Spill is now a month old. Fairly early on the administration managed to shut down the initial storyline that this was President Obama’s Katrina by relentlessly pointing out that Katrina was primarily the result of government neglect and this time around the administration was fast-acting and in charge. It would appear Obama’s grace period on this comparison is about to come to an end.

As a follow-up to Wednesday night’s interview with BP Managing Director Bob Dudley, last night Anderson Cooper had Democratic strategist James Carville and presidential historian Douglas Brinkley and, shockingly, Carville seemed to be more upset with the Obama administration than BP over their handling of the Gulf oil spill, calling them “naive” and noting that their behavior was “lackadaisical,” as if they were merely “inconvenienced” by the disaster.

Every year, a crack team of curmudgeons gets together at the Washington Post to point out ten extremely important and/or useful things in American culture to erase from memory, never to be seen again. Last year, they suggested we forget about television, the Vice Presidency, and one of the Nobel prizes that actually matters. As those efforts were so resoundingly successful last year, they’re back with an even longer list for 2010, raining on the parade of internet memes, lawns (?), and, sadly, the cable news pundits we all know and love.

Last Saturday night, Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams gained legendary status among right-wingers for bravely standing up to the unfair stereotypes of the Tea Party movement perpetuated by… Fox News. Turns out that, besides biting the hand that feeds, Williams was actively promoting these stereotypes last September when he called Barack Obama an “Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug” on his blog.

Conservative radio host and candidate for Arizona’s Senate seat J. D. Hayworth is committed to exposing the Kenyan Birthplace of Barack Obama, has stood up to the grave threat of Man-Horse marriage, and believes that Dracula is real. This is according to an over-the-top and, at times, hilarious political ad put forth by “Friends of John McCain,” who is currently battling Hayworth in the Republican primary. But is it fair that some critics are seeing this as an un-statesmanlike move by McCain.

You’d expect James Carville to be the one that would use Karl Rove‘s new memoir as an excuse to remind everyone of a time he won an obscure, near-impossible political campaign, but it’s his lifelong sidekick Paul Begala who is doing the honors this time around. Begala published his very best attempt at a fair review of Courage and Consequence at The Daily Beast today and, unsurprisingly, it’s a little biased.

Perhaps it was too early in the morning, or something about being reunited with old pal George Stephanopoulos made him feel open to being emotional, but James Carville looked uncommonly vulnerable today discussing the 2010 midterm elections and health care reform on ABC’s Good Morning America. Joining Stephanopoulos and former Bush strategist Matthew Dowd, Carville revived the Sen. Jim DeMint’s term “Obama’s Waterloo” and admitted to feeling “frightened” and believing some of the hype that “Democrats can’t govern.”

Better than the Rockettes! On February 25th, Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will appear at Radio City Music Hall in what the New York Post is calling “a presidential debate for the ages.” UPDATE: It’s off. But by all means read my sardonic reaction below.

This is probably not the result that White House officials had in mind when they came up with the strategy of marginalizing Fox News. Last night Anderson Cooper had on guests James Carville (Democrat) and Kevin Madden (Republican) to debate a growing meme that should concern the Obama administration: do they have a “Nixon-type enemies list”?

Glenn Beck was the topic of conversation on CNN this morning when host John King asked guests Mary Matalin and James Carville what they thought of the controversial Fox News host. After viewing a clip of Lindsay Graham claiming that Beck did not speak for the GOP, Matalin pointed out Beck’s many successful targets in the last few weeks. Carville, however, had a much different opinion.

Almost lost in the brouhaha over the reported truce between GE/Keith Olbermann and Fox News/Bill O’Reilly was the news that Olbermann had kicked replacement host Richard Wolffe off of Countdown. Olbermann cited the appearance of a conflict of interest between Wolffe’s consulting job and his duties as a political analyst for MSNBC. But given the landscape of cable news, in which many big name “politicos” consult on the side quietly or not-so-quietly, why was Wolffe singled out?
