Jimmy Kimmel Persuaded Parents To Prank Their Kids With Bad Christmas Gifts In The Cruelest, Funniest Joke Ever
Some stuff will never not be funny. Children saying goofy things (the darnedest things, if you will) definitely falls into that category. As does the absolute glee that some overworked parents take in occasionally messing with their children so as to coax out those darned things. ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel tapped into that rich, rich well brilliantly last Halloween when he persuaded his viewers to pretend they ate all their kids’ candy and then video tape the reaction. Well, we’re reaching some new child-favorite holidays and, while the Halloween bit was funny, Kimmel has perfected it this time. For the new yuletide version, Kimmel got the parents to wrap up some of the least fun items they could think of and give them to their kids under the guise of a “special early present.” As you can imagine, the results are painfully funny.
Regis Philbin Joins TV’s Other Longstanding Duo In Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Regis And Butthead’
Last night, apparently jonesing for America’s approval real bad, Regis Philbin ventured back in front of the cameras in an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While there, he discussed his plans for his next project and even showed a clip which was…well, I don’t want to spoil all the fun so lets just say he did some work with the only two guys out there that people are more surprised to learn are still on the air.
A Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving Gets Re-Dubbed With Fiery GOP Debate Dialogue
Thanksgiving Day is among the most challenging days for Mediaite editors to find subjects to cover. The site’s “bread and butter” are topics that come from the intersection of media and politics, but on this day we also like to join the rest of the nation by taking pause, and giving thanks to how fortunate we all are. So finding a clip that simultaneously hits notes of spirited political discourse and Thanksgiving cheer (basted with a healthy dose of pastiche nostalgia) is something of a holiday miracle.
Herman Cain Addresses New Sexual Harassment Allegations On Jimmy Kimmel
Beleaguered Republican frontrunner Herman Cain appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night and addressed his new scandal directly with the late night host. “How was your day?” Kimmel deadpanned. “Well, all things considered, I’m still alive,” the former Godfather Pizza CEO said, and admitted he was surprised by his accuser’s press conference. “We watched it because we didn’t even know that this whole thing about woman number four was going to even come out, so that was a surprise.”
A Teary-Eyed Jimmy Kimmel Presents Touching Tribute To Uncle Frank (UPDATE)
When you work the long hours of something like a TV show, the people you work with become your family. However, for Jimmy Kimmel, one of his regulars already was. For nearly nine years, fans of Jimmy Kimmel Live! were entertained by Kimmel’s “crazy uncle” Frank Potenza, known to audiences simply as Uncle Frank. A month ago, Potenza died of cancer at the age of 77 and, last night, a tearful Kimmel presented a moving tribute to the man showing some of his best moments over the years.
Mike Tyson Teaches President Bush How To Speak In Kimmel’s King’s Speech Parody
On Jimmy Kimmel‘s post-Oscars special, the comic host unveiled a spoof trailer for a movie inspired by Oscar winner The King’s Speech and adapted for America as Tyler Perry’s The President Speech. In it, former boxing champion Mike Tyson trades in the gloves and a paintbrush (see clip) in order to humorously give former President George W. Bush elocution lessons.
Jay Leno Responds To Howard Stern: I’m Not A Comic Thief
The Tonight Show host Jay Leno spoke out on a range of topics from David Letterman to retirement, but most interesting may have been his response to recent accusations from radio host Howard Stern that Leno is a comic thief. In defending himself from the charge, Leno also came to the defense of another nemesis, Conan O’Brien, when O’Brien came under a somewhat similar attack.
Amy Poehler Describes How She Showed Up In Those Old Stock Photos
Last week, the Internet delighted at the discovery of some old stock photos featuring none other than Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler. “How could this be?” we wondered. Well, Poehler may be one of the most successful women in comedy, starring in multiple beloved series, becoming an SNL cast member and anchoring Weekend Update while there, and co-founding two of the biggest comedy theaters and schools in New York and Los Angeles, however, that stuff doesn’t happen over night. She explained her Getty Image past last night to Jimmy Kimmel.
Michel Gondry Directed Jimmy Kimmel Last Night And It Was Kind Of Insane
Last night, Jimmy Kimmel Live was guest-directed by Michel Gondry, the director behind such films at Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep. Sure, the whole thing was basically just a long commercial for Gondry’s latest movie The Green Hornet, but there’s nothing the French director can’t make wacky, whimsical, and a little bit awesome (except, maybe, the movie The Green Hornet).
Bill Carter Reveals Jeff Zucker And Jay Leno’s Reaction To War For Late Night
Bill Carter took his publicity tour for The War For Late Night to late night last night – as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel‘s ABC show.
With two weeks since the book’s release, Carter could talk about the reactions he’s gotten from people who have read it – like Jeff Zucker and Jay Leno.
Aqua Buddha Crashes Rand Paul Debate (On Jimmy Kimmel Live)
The whole Rand Paul-Aqua Buddha thing came and went a few months ago, but it’s back in the news as the weeks until the election wind down.
Since Aqua Buddha was introduced in the most recent Kentucky debate, and in a campaign ad, the character of Aqua Buddha has taken on a life of its own.
This Exists: Tim Heidecker And Eric Wareheim Give A Typically Insane Interview On Jimmy Kimmel
There are three ways people feel towards Tim and Eric. Either they think the duo is brilliant, awful, or they have no idea who they are. There are no other reactions. They’re incredibly bizarre interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live is a perfect example why.
Jimmy Kimmel Features The Prime Time Failures Of Jeff Zucker With The Music Of Billy Joel
Although Jeff Zucker had many successes during his long tenure time at NBC, in the wake of his dismissal by the soon-to-be bosses from Comcast, most people are focussing on his many, many failures. That’s just what the folks at Jimmy Kimmel Live did last night, and they did it through song! Using Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” the go-to tune for any musical parody involving listing, the bit features a Zucker lookalike gleefully singing the names of some of the worst NBC disasters of the Zucker era.
Levi Johnston Says He’s Kicked Out Of Palin Family “For Permanently”
Levi Johnston was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, because, no he’s not a reality TV star yet, but he might be one day and, you know, what the hell. He’s sort of the reality star of our lives already.
The interview is friendly, but Kimmel’s pretty solid smackdown to end the segment leaves Johnston speechless.
Basil Marceaux Visits Jimmy Kimmel Live, May Run For Governor… Of California
We’ve been on the Basil Marceaux beat for a couple weeks now, and on the heels of Mediaite’s exclusive interview with the anti-traffic stop Tennessee Governor candidate, Marceaux stopped by Jimmy Kimmel‘s ABC late night show last night.
It went how you’d expect.
Jimmy Kimmel Performs “Oprah Song” In Honor Of Winfrey’s Return To Top Of Forbes List
Forbes magazine has released their annual list of 100 Most Powerful Celebrities, and after a year off, Oprah Winfrey has returned to the top of the list.
To praise his ABC colleague, Jimmy Kimmel and his audience performed the “Oprah Song” – a dictatorial-themed tune that begins “All Hail Oprah.”
Drake And Jimmy Kimmel Debut Their New Twitter Song “Tweet Tweet”

But he and Kimmel also debuted their new Twitter-related single, “Tweet Tweet.”
Jimmy Kimmel Remixes The Tiger Woods Interviews
Jimmy Kimmel had some fun last night with the five-minute ESPN and Golf Channel interviews of Tiger Woods on his ABC late night show.
Besides commenting on Woods’ answers and the length of the interview, he edited together a fake interview between Woods and his security guard Guillermo.
Barbara Walters’ Final Oscars Interview Show – And Her Next One
Barbara Walters announced on The View this week that this year’s pre-Oscars interview special would be her last, after nearly 30 years.
But what will she do for her next special? Jimmy Kimmel gave his take.
Kimmel, Conan, and the Truth About Leno-Hate
Jimmy Kimmel’s evisceration of Jay Leno last night was incredible – as much of the Internet has noted – but not just for the reasons people are giving.
Oops, We Changed Our Mind: GLAAD Tosses ABC Under The Bus
A day after giving cover to ABC for imposing a performance exile on Adam Lambert, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has shifted its position and now says ABC should get the gay community’s scorn for its treatment of Lambert, saying “GLAAD remains steadfast in our assertion that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard by ABC as an openly gay performer.” Huh?
GLAAD Gives Blessing to Adam Lambert’s Exile From ABC
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation says ABC’s decision to put Adam Lambert into performance exile is not because of homophobia but because he won’t follow directions, giving cover to the network from critics who say the ban from the Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC’s New Years Rockin’ Eve show is due to Lambert’s homoerotic antics at the American Music Awards.
