Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), who won a special election in 2010 to serve the remainder of the late Sen. Robert Byrd’s term and is up for reelection this year, says that he is considering voting for the presumptive Republican nominee in November and not President Obama.

Sens. Joe Manchin (D – W. Va.) and Marco Rubio (R – Fla.) made a joint appearance on Fox & Friends Thursday morning, and before they could even get a word in to start the interview, host Gretchen Carlson began raving about the duo agreeing to appear together.

Joe Manchin is the Democratic junior senator from West Virginia who got a lot of attention for his somewhat notorious “Dead Aim” campaign ad that featured his shooting of a piece of paper that had “Cap and Trade Bill” printed on it. It wasn’t so much the gun shooting that raised a nation’s eyebrows, it was Manchin’s rhetoric that appeared to counter President Obama‘s positions, specifically with regards to what he called “the bad parts of ObamaCare.” Well Manchin appears to be going after Obama again, though this time its on the Senate floor.

Democratic Joe Manchin has been declared the winner by CNN and other news outlets. This effectively confirms that the Democrats will maintain a majority in the US Senate and making it nearly impossible for the GOP to take over both House and Senate. Perhaps more importantly, Manchin got a lot of attention for running against Barack Obama’s policies (namely health care reform) despite being on the same party.

Polls indicate that the West Virginia Senate race between Republican John Raese and the Democratic Gov. Joe Manchin is skewing in the GOP’s favor. So with only a week to go, Manchin’s latest campaign ad, “Good Message,” is going the whole nine yards. The carefully worded spot calls the Republican’s ideas (though not the Republican himself) “crazy.”

The search for bodies in the wake of an explosion in a West Virginia coal mine last week has ended. Authorities announced earlier this evening that the four remaining men still missing were found dead.
