Report: Michele Bachmann Inks Deal To Write Her Memoir

The New York TimesJulie Bosman reports Rep. Michele Bachmann has agreed to a deal to write a memoir, set to be published by Sentinel, described by the Times as “a conservative imprint at Penguin Group,” citing people familiar with the negotiations. The book, to be co-written withJohn Fund, a columnist for The Wall Street Journal, is set to hit bookstores in the fall:

Sarah Palin‘s “One Nation” bus tour has many speculating that she is ready to launch a presidential bid, but she has yet to convince everyone. On Fox News today, Wall Street Journal writer John Fund told anchor Gregg Jarrett that he sees her even less likely to run than Rudy Giuliani and Michele Bachmann, though at least more viable than Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Poll Says Majority of Americans Oppose Raising Debt Ceiling

Before the Arizona shooting, most of the talk amongst politicians and commentators revolved around the impending debt crisis and whether Congress would vote to raise the debt ceiling. Now the issue is slowly creeping back into the national conversation given that the U.S. hits the current debt ceiling in March and a new Reuters/IPSOS poll reveals a surprising statistic: 71% of Americans are against raising the ceiling.

Had you been watching Hannity, you would have seen host Sean Hannity and his panel discuss Jon Stewart‘s “Rally to Restore Sanity,” but focusing on the inclusion of Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam as a participant in a comedy bit over Trains of all sorts (Peace, Crazy and Love as it were.) Hannity (and panel) all expressed predictable outrage over Yusuf’s inclusion, given his alleged support of the fatwa against author Salmon Rushdie for his tome Satanic Verses.

Friendly Fire? CNN’s Lou Dobbs Gets Called Out By CNN’s Reliable Sources

On this week’s Reliable Sources, Howard Kurtz struck back at CNN cohort Lou Dobbs. Earlier in the week, Dobbs claimed that he and his wife had been shot at in their New Jersey home, in part due to the “national liberal media” and its coverage in the immigration debate. Kurtz and guest Margaret Carlson were skeptical.
