Most people following the case against Wikileaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange would probably argue that he and his legal team are in no position to be thinking about prosecuting anyone else, but that hasn’t precluded Assange’s attorney from threatening to do just that. In an interview with NPR, attorney Robert Stary threatened legal action against, of all people, Sarah Palin for “incit[ing] others to commit violence” against Assange, a crime, he says, that could result in “private prosecution.”

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Hollywood has begun the quest to get Julian Assange into our theaters. No, he won’t be fulfilling his destiny and starring as the villain in the next James Bond movie. Instead, they’re planning on making a biopic of his life. Many are now questioning who should get the plum lead role. Here’s a pretty big get for WikiLeaks, Julian Assange‘s polarizing document-leaking database: A former banker in Switzerland named Rudolf Elmer has handed the organization information concerning several offshore bank account holders. His motive? Apparently, he “wanted to draw attention to financial abuses.”

Last night, WikiLeaks posted a press release entitled “WikiLeaks: treat incitement seriously or expect more Gabrielle Gifford killing sprees.” In it, they also decried the violent rhetoric that has been much discussed since the shooting this past Saturday. Ex-New York Times reporter Judith Miller has come out swinging at critics who jumped on her for comments made over the weekend calling WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange a “bad journalist.”

Miller, who many consider a bad journalist herself for her Times reporting that helped build the case for war in Iraq, told Yahoo’s The Cutline that there’s simply no comparison between the work she did for the Times and what Assange has done with WikiLeaks:

Uygur, host of “The Young Turks” on XM Satellite Radio, is apparently feeling pretty pumped about that, as he made clear in a video posted to YouTube where he displays a surprising knowledge of professional wrestling moves.

Well that didn’t take long. After announcing a self-imposed suspension of his Twitter account, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann has returned to his pre-suspension tweeting ways last night, having taken a three day hiatus from the social media platform. Has the frenzy over Olbermann’s allegedly dismissive treatment of Julian Assange‘s rape allegations died down? Or is it just starting?

The more notorious Julian Assange becomes, the more fun Bill Hader seems to have with the character. He interrupted a message from Mark Zuckerberg on last night’s Saturday Night Live in order to demonstrate why he should be Time’s Person of the Year. “Thanks to WikiLeaks, you can see how corrupt governments operate in the shadows,” he said between muahahas. “Thanks to Facebook, you can figure out which Sex and the City character you are.”

It seems Wikileaks founder Julian Assange does not like embarrassing information about himself to be publicly revealed. When ABC News reporter Jim Sciutto questioned Assange about the rape allegations in Sweden and his claim of undue influence on the female accusers, Assange pulled the plug on the interview and stormed off. Apparently, when too much is exposed about “Mr. Transparency” Assange, he gets upset and in this case, called the offender a “tabloid schmuck.”

While Keith Olbermann has been unwilling to respond to legitimate questions regarding dismissive treatment of rape allegations against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, he has announced that he was quitting Twitter until the “frenzy” died down. If Sady Doyle, the woman who started the protest that forced him off Twitter, is any indication, he could be waiting a long time, and taking serious damage in the process.

There’s no confusion as to Larry Flynt‘s stances on free speech and the First Amendment. This is a man who wore an American flag as a diaper to prove a point. And now this is a man who’s donating $50,000 to the WikiLeaks defense fund. “Let’s get something straight: Julian Assange is a journalist,” he wrote in The Huffington Post, adding: “And for many of us, he’s a hero.”
