As the fallout continues from last night’s scandalous Herman Cain exposé, many trying to parse Cain’s response to accusations of having had to settle a sexual harassment claim as head of the National Restaurant Association, while the Cain campaign has tried to turn the tables on Politico for breaking the story. On the Ed Show tonight, Politico‘s Ken Vogel elaborated on the work that went into story, but refused to confirm or deny who fed the site the story.

We reported earlier on New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson‘s donation to an auction that would raise funds for Glenn Beck‘s 8/28 “Restoring Honor” rally and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation only after Beck’s event is paid for. We later reported that donations have already exceeded the event’s estimated cost.

Now, Mother Jones is reporting that ABC made a similar donation, involving a visit to the set of Good Morning America and an introduction to George Stephanopoulos, but withdrew it when they learned of Beck’s involvement.

Today on MSNBC’s Hardball, Chris Matthews tried to debate Salon‘s Joan Walsh and former Gov. Howard Dean that Andrew Breitbart‘s version of the controversial Shirley Sherrod speech was completely unedited. Considering there were about 35 minutes missing from that tape, this was wrong for obvious reasons. But if you caught the 7PM rerun, you wouldn’t have seen that, because Hardball retaped the segment, this time with Matthews admitting the Breitbart version was incomplete.
