Former CNNer Lou Dobbs Signs Multi-Year Contract With Fox Business Network

Lou Dobbs

Former CNN anchor, and regular guest on Fox News and Fox Business, Lou Dobbs will have a new home on the Fox Business Network starting in 2011. He’s host a new daily program for the young business channel and make regular appearances across many FBN shows. Joe Flint of the Los Angeles Times has the scoop:

Meet The Prensa: Roberto Lovato’s Post-Dobbs Victory Lap

Latino activist Roberto Lovato co-founded Basta Dobbs, the most notorious of the Latino grassroots organizations that angrily called for the firing of CNN’s controversial anchor. With his abrupt resignation last week, Lovato and Latinos were celebrating — and taking some of the credit. To him, it’s an example of Latino clout in this country — and a voice CNN had no choice but to listen to. Mediaite’s Jose Simian spoke with Lovato exclusively about what he called their “victory.”

Jon Stewart Finds Lou Dobbs’s Views “Abhorrent and Wrong,” Doesn’t Ask About Them

Lou Dobbs was on the Daily Show last night, in an interview that skirted lightly around the reasons for his split with CNN, despite welcoming Dobbs to the set with a Mariachi band (though Jon Stewart did call Dobbs’ views “abhorrent and wrong”). Dobbs said he parted ways with CNN because he didn’t fit with their “middle of the road journalism.” Then they talked about whether Obamacare = Tyranny. And more!

After “Amicable” $8 Million Split With CNN, What’s Next For Lou Dobbs?

Almost a week after the fact, lots of fascinating details are starting to trickle in about Lou Dobbs‘ departure from CNN. Why did he announce his resignation on Wednesday instead of the more customary Friday? (Bad luck to bow on Friday the 13th.) What sort of severance did he get? (For the headline-impaired among you, that would be $8 million.) The big question: is Dobbs planning on going into politics?

That Was Fast: Lou Dobbs Named A “Worst Person” By Olbermann

Shortly after Lou Dobbs announced his decision to leave CNN, he received his very first going-away present: a “Worst Person in the World” bronze medal, courtesy of Keith Olbermann. What did he do to deserve the honor less than two hours after he announced his departure?

Is Lou Dobbs Going To Fox?

Buried in Brian Stelter‘s story about the battle between Fox News and the Obama Administration is a little nugget: Last month, Lou Dobbs met with Roger Ailes. Fox Business Network, which recently picked up firebrand Don Imus, is reportedly interested in Dobbs, whose controversial anti-immigration, anti-Administration stance has sat awkwardly with the rest of CNN’s programming of late.
