Lady Journos: New Site Aims To Address The Byline Gender Gap

On Monday, Friedman started Lady Journos, a project dedicated to aggregating the work of women writers and journalists in one place to once and for all answer the question “Where are all the women writers?”  Similar to projects like Longform.org and Longreads.com, Lady Journos is a Tumblr-based site that is dedicated to curating works of long-form writing and reporting by women across a variety of topics.

This afternoon, Virginia Congressional candidate Krystal Ball appeared on Fox News to discuss the photo scandal that has plagued her campaign with Megyn Kelly. In it, Kelly discussed the response Ball issued yesterday, calling out her critics attacks as “sexist and wrong.”

What happened to her, she said, is nothing unique – it could happen to any 28-year-old woman who grew up in the digital age – and they shouldn’t let their opponents use that to shame them into not running for office.
