Today, the actor Mickey Rooney spoke to a senate subcommittee about the dangers of elder abuse, not just as an advocate but, allegedly, as a victim. He accused his stepchildren of “verbal, emotional and financial abuse” and said that they “stripped [him] of the ability to make even the most basic decisions.” On Good Morning America today, Mediaite founder and ABC legal analyst Dan Abrams helped give viewers advice on what to do if they or someone they love is dealing with this type of abuse.
