It turns out that moderating several Republican debates does not actually make one immune to thinking that there may be too many of them this time around. Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace visited radio host Mike Gallagher to talk about Thursday’s debate, and ended up instead talking about debates generally, and how “ridiculous” the fact that there have been nineteen of them is.

With the Iowa caucus 24 hours away and the tension mounting on the three campaigns still vying for a clear lead, potential frontrunner Rick Santorum has started lashing out at the media– both conservative and liberal. On the radio today with host Mike Gallagher, Santorum accused the “elite media” of having a “general attitude” that they know better than voters so pervasive that it even appeared in Fox News, and accused Bill O’Reilly of “refus[ing] to put me on his program.”

On America Live Friday afternoon, host Megyn Kelly played referee in a shouting match between Fox News liberal embed Alan Colmes and conservative radio host Mike Gallagher over supposed outrage at Democratic support for Occupy Wall Street. Colmes chided Gallagher, and the media, for focusing on the actions of a small number of protesters, but what really set Gallagher off was Colmes’ comparison of OWS to the Tea Party.

Radio hosts Mike Gallagher and Alan Colmes faced off Friday on Megyn Kelly‘s Fox News program and debated the Obama Administration’s decision to delay his decision over the controversial Keystone XL pipeline. “20,000 jobs is important except if it comes to polluting the snail darter!” Gallagher exclaimed. “All we’ve heard from both parties, Alan, is it’s all about the jobs — 20,000 American jobs are being flushed down the toilet because they’re going to pollute a little bit of water! Are you kidding”

Jon Stewart was really sad to see Megyn Kelly go on maternity leave these past few months, but was happy to see her return, giving radio host Mike Gallagher a tongue lashing for calling maternity leave a “racket.” It was bizarre for Stewart, though, because Kelly had before complained that worker benefits like maternity leave were anti-capitalist and men didn’t deserve equally long parental leave. Is it the new hair, Stewart posited, or a case of post-partum compassion?

If you spend any time in midtown Manhattan today, you can probably close your eyes and here the collective sigh of relief coming from Fox News’ offices now that Megyn Kelly has returned to the airwaves after her three month maternity leave. Rocking a sporty new hairdo, but still possessing the same spunky willingness to confront and surprise her guests, it didn’t take long for Kelly to remind her viewers what they were missing over the last few months, particularly when she confronted Fox News regular Mike Gallagher for making comments derisive of her time spent with her newborn.

As you’re likely aware, Texas Governor Rick Perry has been organizing a prayer event (Chron.com referred to it as a “Christian rally“), to be held next month in Houston’s Reliant Stadium. The event has drawn criticism from groups concerned that the event violates the separation between Church and state. In fact, a group of atheists and agnostics have now filed a lawsuit against Perry, claiming the event is more political than spiritual. Perry hit back, calling his critics intolerant.

On this afternoon’s America Live, Megyn Kelly spoke with conservative radio host and Fox News contributor Mike Gallagher about the decision to allow the members of Westboro Baptist Church radio airtime for agreeing not to demonstrate at the funeral of nine-year-old Arizona shooting victim Christina Taylor Green. Kelly asked whether giving this group a platform on two conservative Christian radio stations was, in essence, rewarding them for their bad behavior.

Chris Wallace has better things to talk about than whether a private institution chooses to put a Christmas tree in its lobby, much to the chagrin of radio host Mike Gallagher. The Fox News Sunday host visited his program on Friday in the hopes of discussing hard politics and, in being roped into discussing the “war on Christmas,” became irritated at Gallagher, debunking the claim that the holiday is under attack and becoming exasperated with the topic quickly.

“This has not been our most interesting exchange,” Fox News person Chris Wallace told Mike Gallagher on Gallagher’s radio show, moments before they had their most interesting exchange to date. It started when Mike asked when Chris’ “lovely” wife Lorraine Wallace was going to visit his show to promote her upcoming book. But, somehow, this innocent query led to an unfortunate discussion over which of the two men can better satisfy his wife. Awkward.

Democratic Blue Dog Rep. Bobby Bright recently made an offhand remark during an appearance in Alabama after he was reportedly asked whether he would support Nancy Pelosi as House speaker if reelected. Bright joked that in the coming months Pelosi “could fall ill and die.” During an appearance with Megyn Kelly to discuss the coming midterms, conservative radio host Mike Gallagher chided Bright for “crossing the line,” but then suggested “throwing a bucket of water on her and see what happens.” Wow.

It isn’t the first time Fox News is accused of conservative bias, but this may be one of the wackier theories on how they do it. Today on America Live, Megyn Kelly hosted a discussion on protests in the media and, rather than attack their TV personalities for positive Tea Party coverage, radio host Mark Levine argued that FNC’s cameramen engaged in partisan cinematography to make illegal immigration protesters appear violent.

Crash The Tea Party is a grass roots organization website that publicly directed individuals to “infiltrate” Tea Party rallies and hold up offensive signs in an attempt to depict them as the “racists, homophobes, and morons” that the group thinks they are. Reports have now come out that the individual behind the website, Jason Levin has been put on a leave of absence from his public school teacher job in Oregon. Fox News Megyn Kelly reports:

Last night on The O’Reilly Factor, Bill welcomed two radio hosts to discuss “misguided” attacks on President Obama‘s response to the tragedy in Haiti. He lead the Impact Segment by calling out “some conservative radio people,” but vying for public enemy #1 in terms of insensitivity, is none other than Rush Limbaugh. On The Factor, conservatives agreed: the attacks are over the line.

Sometimes it’s just too easy for television’s punditocracy. In yesterday’s speech regarding the failed terrorist attack of Christmas Day, Barack Obama admitted that there was a failure “to connect the dots,” a clean, honest and trite acknowledgment that mistakes had been made. Also, a perfect soundbite for TV pundits eager to simplify a complex narrative into a few, easy-to-understand words, almost like a puzzle designed to quiet children on a restaurant placemat. Speaking of which…

It’s hard not to wonder if the story of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab may turn out to be the biggest story of the year if it keeps developing the way it does. Actually, it’s getting hard not to feel a sense of deja vu all over again as more of the details come to light, because while the attempted attack on Northwest Flight 253 in no way resembles the horror and destruction of September 11, 2001 the lack of government preparedness in the face of a whole lot of intel leading up to it is starting to feel awfully familiar.

As more scary details emerge about Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab flight to the U.S. and the TSA’s lack of security it may not be entirely surprising that the incident is bringing out, shall we say, certain people’s worser angels.Case in point: Yesterday on Fox News conservative talking head Mike Gallagher, in an effort to address the “800 lbs gorilla in the room” suggested that there should be a separate line in airports for Muslims.
