Conan Reveals Paris Hilton’s ‘Real Voice’ In Clip From ABC Interview

Picture 3 video

This week’s headline-grabbing Paris Hilton interview by ABC’s Dan Harris got most of the attention for the reality star’s decision to walk out mid-chat rather than address Harris’ question–has your “moment” passed? But as Conan O’Brien discovered, there was an equally significant revelation in the interview–that Hilton’s on-camera voice is, basically, a put-on. In a clip aired on Conan Thursday night, Hilton ditches the baby voice and breathy whine and reveals–for the first time on camera–her real voice. And, well, it’s probably best that she sticks with the baby talk.

Paris Hilton Walks Out Of ABC Interview When Asked If Her ‘Moment’ Has Passed

Want to get on Paris Hilton‘s bad side? Ask her if she’s old news. ABC’s Dan Harris sat down with Hilton at her home in Los Angeles to talk about her career, and whether or not low ratings for her Fox reality show The Simple Life indicate she’s seeing the end of her “moment.” Hilton smiles awkwardly, looks off camera–taking direction from a handler–and walks off. As Harris described it, “after storming off, Hilton eventually returned to the interview after some cajoling to discuss her ideas about her own reinvention.” The interview–and the interruption–were featured on Wednesday morning’s GMA.

Gawker has just published an excerpt of a newly released and unauthorized tell-all book called FLASH! Bars, Boobs, and Busted: 5 Years on the Road with Girls Gone Wild . The book is reported to be a revealing portrayal of the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis, and the passage excerpted on Gawker shares some rather bizarre and graphic details of how celebutante Paris Hilton was alleged to travel with illicit substances tucked away most privately.

Dan Abrams On Today: Paris Hilton May See Jail Time Over Cocaine Arrest

Dan Abrams Today Show video

Paris Hilton has been seeing a lot of the police lately. She was detained (but not charged) for suspected marijuana possession in South Africa. Then, last week, the cops were at her Los Angeles home, not for her but for an armed intruder trying to rob the place! Now, to top things off, she’s been arrested for cocaine possession. NBC’s Chief Legal Analyst and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams was on the Today Show this morning to discuss the case and he believes that, depending on the amount of coke found in the purse (which Hilton will likely claim wasn’t her’s), the heiress may be returning to prison.

Paris Hilton Arrested For Cocaine Possession

For much of today, the mainstream media will be focusing on an event whose goal is an abstract concept. Let’s face it, most of us have a hard time defining “honor,” much less figuring out how to “restore it.” But before we go about figuring out what honor is, let’s take a look at what it definitely isn’t: Paris Hilton was arrested in Las Vegas last night for cocaine possession. What, is pot no longer the trendy thing to get arrested for among millionaire heiresses?

I’m Sorry, So Sorry: Top Ten On-Air Apologies

David Letterman’s public apology Monday night for bad behavior is merely the latest in a long list of famous public apologies. Letterman joins a group of mea culpa-ers that includes a whole lot of politicians — Clinton, McGreevey, Sanford, Spitzer — and one or two jackass entertainers. After the jump, Mediaite’s top ten list of public apologies.

Tragedy + Comedy = Spoof Health Care PSAs

Move over, Harry & Louise, there’s a new health care debate going on, and this one’s takin’ it to YouTube. Oh, wait, Harry & Louise switched sides, but the point is, online video has made it really, really easy to take to the Internets to try and move the debate — and activist humor is [...]

Is Barack Obama Your New Paris Hilton?

Was John McCain right when he said that Obama and Paris Hilton were basically the same person? No, but they do share a habit of looking alarmingly consistent across photographs.

Eric Spiegelman has sped up 130 photographs of Obama meeting with foreign dignitaries (video after the jump), and ‘Bam’s expression is virtually the same in all of them, to creepy effect. Remind you of any heiresses you know?

World of Filmcraft: Why a MMORPG Could be the First Successful Video Game-Turned-Movie

In Warcraft, an online social media world as much as a game, players usually log in daily, even if just to say a quick “Hello” to their guildmates and run “dailies.” I know people who have met their significant others while questing in Azeroth – who have had weddings in-game – and long-distance BFFs who keep in touch via dungeon runs. In other words, Blizzard has successfully inculcated a heavy emotional investment in the majority of their players – an investment that I bet will easily translate into plunking down 10 bucks on opening night for two hours of movie magic.

From “Dirt Nasty” To Rex: An Uncensored Interview With Celeb-Skewering Simon Rex

The name “Simon Rex” means vastly different things to different people. To some, he’s the mainstream former MTV VJ and star of movies like Scary Movie 3 and sitcom What I Like About You. To others, he’s “Dirt Nasty,” the hip-hop parody act, who now performs in character and connects with fans on Twitter. Soon, you’ll know him in a different role: as himself
