Power Grid Update – Rejoice!

The Power Grid has been updated! It’s only one week old, and the Power Grid has already welcomed over 50 new additions. As it says on our FAQ page, and every other Power Grid page for that matter, “If you see anything that’s missing or incorrect, please email us.” And many of you did! Some [...]

POWER GRID – TV Reporters: Mickey Mouse Has a Posse

The Power Grid has some major changes today, and one of the most fluid categories remains the TV Reporters list. One thing that hasn’t changed – the top spot. It’s still ABC News’ Chief White House correspondent Jake Tapper. And this time, he’s brought some of his ABC friends to join him in the Top 10. Here’s a full breakdown of all the movement.

POWER GRID – Print/Online Reporters: The Cult of the Personality

Print/Online Reporters is the second biggest category in our Power Grid next to TV Reporters, and arguably captures best the changing and often blurry landscape of today’s journalism. What is a reporter? What is a blogger? What happens when the two overlap? It’s a tricky state of affairs.

Sun Valley Mogulfest – Does Twitter Get Any Love?

Early headlines from the event have focused on the rise of social media (have you heard of Twitter?) as well as paid content. In other words, if you can’t make money off of Twitter or Facebook, how much should one pay for it? We’ll leave that question to the bigwigs in Idaho — we know what everyone’s really concerned with: where everyone ranks on the Power Grid.

I Was a Teenage Power Grid

On May 27th, two days after I graduated from college, I began my internship with Mediaite. That morning, on a glass table in the living room of Dan’s townhouse, I saw the two faces of the beast that would consume my waking hours for the next month-and-a-half.

POWER GRID – TV Reporters: International Influence

Let’s talk Power Grid. Today’s category: TV Reporters. ABC’s Jake Tapper is in the top spot, followed by fellow White House correspondent Chuck Todd at #2. Looking at the top four TV reporter slots, one thing is consistent – none are currently on U.S. soil. So if you want a prime spot on the Power Grid, you have to get a correspondence gig overseas, right? Not exactly.

POWER GRID – Newspaper/Online Editors: Who the Heck is Brian Lam?

Today we look at the top ten results in our Newspaper/Online Editors category. Turns out it’s a pretty solid snapshot of the changing, and unchanging, face of media this year. The fact that the NYT Executive Editor Bill Keller is riding high in the #1 spot will probably not come as a shock. So perhaps the question you are left asking is “who the heck is Brian Lam?”
