ABC’s Barbara Walters will interview with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama two days before Thanksgiving, for a special airing Friday night.

This will be the second sit-down for Walters, who has interviewed every President from Nixon to Obama.

By now we’ve all heard Pres. Barack Obama‘s ditch analogy, and most people had a general idea where he was going when he used it during stump speeches over the past couple weeks (others, however, don’t get it).

Barack Obama fired a shot at Fox News earlier this week when Rolling Stone published an interview with the President that included a less-than-flattering appraisal of the network (“It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world”). Now, Fox News has begun to fire back.

NBCU’s Education Nation week kicked off with a half-hour interview of Pres. Barack Obama by Today show’s Matt Lauer, roadblocked across NBC and all its cable platforms.

While the majority of the time was spent talking about education (“there’s nothing more important,” said the President), Obama also made his first public comments about the GOP’s Pledge To America.

In place of its customary three editorials, the New York Times today dedicated its entire editorial page to a single, long, blunt critique of the Obama Administration’s efforts in Afghanistan. “The State of the War” argues that the American people are fed up with the “cacophony of conflicting signals” regarding the war and are growing ever more disheartened by the “relentlessly grim” reports from the ground. President Obama, the editorial says, owes his country some answers.

Pres. Barack Obama sat down with ABC’s Good Morning America Consumer Correspondent Elisabeth Leamy for a wide-ranging interview about the economy, financial reform and more.

But the key takeaway was his comments on the story of the week – Shirley Sherrod.

“The risk of being an ‘angry black man,’” says the headline. The caption notes: “scholars say history has shown that African-American men can frighten white people if they display too much anger.” Oh dear.

Obama has done a lot to stay in good graces with the American youth population who helped to get him elected. He had Beyonce sing at his inauguration (so hip!), he put some extra cash in their pockets for their college bills. But according to The Daily Beast, the twentysomethings who followed his administration from the campaign trail to the White House are jumping ship.

Former press secretary to George W. Bush Ari Fleischer has had some tough jobs since he’s left the administration (defending the BCS, Mark McGwire and Tiger Woods to name a few), so he was a good choice to lend a helping hand to Pres. Barack Obama, who is currently undergoing a crisis of optics in the wake of the BP disaster.

Fleischer’s advice? Be yourself.

The last question at Pres. Barack Obama‘s long-awaited press conference today returned to the topic of the oil spill – with a little Joe Sestak thrown in.

Fox News’ Major Garrett asked the two-parter – that broke some news.

But this wasn’t really about immigration. No, it was about how liberals never seem to help their poor relatives.

ABC News/Washington Post have released a poll today showing the various demographics that remain steadfast in their belief Pres. Barack Obama was not born in the United States.

The biggest surprise? A third of these “birthers” seem totally fine with the idea that the President wasn’t born in America.
