Farmer Tosses Rihanna Off His Land After She Ceased ‘To Be Dressed In An Appropriate Manner’
A farmer in Northern Ireland threw pop singer Rihanna off his property after she removed her top during the filming of a music video for her single “We Found Love.”
Alan Graham, farmer and North Down Borough council member, told told the Irish press that “the young lady in question was ceasing to be dressed in an appropriate manner” and so he pulled up to the shoot on his tractor and “requested that the filming end at that stage.” He said he’d had no idea who the singer was when she requested to use his barley field for her video, but that someone eventually explained to him that “she was as big as it gets as far as pop stars were concerned. I am a bit illiterate about those issues.”
Laura Ingraham Enters Into Twitter Battle With Chris Brown, 50 Cent, And Their Fans
Last week, Laura Ingraham appeared on The Today Show to promote her new book, Of Thee I Zing, which deals in part on the destruction of our culture (a topic that’s been good for books for as long as there’s been culture…and books). While there, she gave a couple of examples she’d seen which included a man watching porn on an airplane (for the hundredth time, Laura, it was a long flight and I’m sorry) and the musicians that Today itself had booked for their summer concert series. A few days later, after R&B singer Chris Brown, perhaps better known for the whole brutally beating up Rihanna thing, performed on the show, Ingraham took he and Today to task which has now led to a heated Twitter fight between she, Brown, the rapper 50 Cent, and their fans.
Culture Wars: Is Friends With Benefits Star Mila Kunis Fit To Be A ‘Patriot’? O’Reilly Says Yes
The original “Culture Warrior” Bill O’Reilly began his program last night with a lengthy discussion on how pop culture is destroying America with Laura Ingraham. Ke$ha, Rihanna, tattoos, and “prosti-tots,” Ingraham railed, were besieging the youth psyche in such a way that parents must unite to save the nation’s future. It was standard fare for the Factor, but made it all the more surreal when, at the end of the program, he unveiled the day’s “Patriot”: Mila Kunis, star of a film about two best friends having sex with each other to avoid actual relationships.
And The Winner Is…Um… BET Awards Painfully Mangle Viewers’ Choice Announcement
Execs at BET are apologizing today for “human error” that led to an extremely awkward moment at the network’s BET Awards Sunday night. A music fan chosen to announce the viewer’s choice award had a moment of clear on-camera confusion, leading to a most awkward screwup, announcing the right winner, then correcting herself, naming someone else, before yet a third name was announced. The mistake, officials with the awards show explained, may have been caused by a conflict between what was written on the smartphone in the fan’s hand (taking the place of a printed envelope with a winner’s name) and what was written on the teleprompter in the hall.
Trump’s 10 Best Celebrity Feuds And Whether They’ll Be Seeking Revenge
As speculation continues that Donald Trump may be planning to run for President, there’s no doubt that his brash, willing to say anything attitude is shaking up the political world. However, on his path towards success, Trump made plenty of enemies and now might be the time that some of them are waiting for, in order to extract maximum revenge.
Rosie O’Donnell Goes To Bat For Chris Brown Against ABC’s Robin Roberts
It may not have been what Chris Brown had in mind, but it appears the disgraced star has finally found an ally in the celebrity world: Rosie O’Donnell, who on her radio show this week accused his detractors (and ABC host Robin Roberts) of racism for maligning his window-breaking behavior more than, she argues, the equivalent by white stars. A name notably absent from O’Donnell’s analysis? Rihanna.

GMA Interview Sends R&B Star Chris Brown Into Window-Smashing Rage
Chris Brown, who’s best know for beating up ex-girlfriend Rihanna but also raps, was a guest on Good Morning America today. He was fine talking about one of those topics, but not so much the other. According to the New York Post, the repeated questions from GMA co-host Robin Roberts about the star’s legal troubles sent him into a rage, leaving a window at GMA‘s Times Square studios smashed as Brown made his exit.
The Year In Pop: Mashing Up Billboard’s Top 25 of 2010
For the third year in a row, DJ Earworm has created a mashup of the top 25 songs of the year, as determined by Billboard, in his 2010 United States of Pop (Don’t Stop the Pop). Featured: Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Enrique Iglesias (really? He was back this year?), the Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Eminem, and — wait, no Bieber?!? I can’t imagine a 2010 mashup without the Baby hook that I still maintain ripped off “Runaround Sue” (oh look! Proof!).
Grammys Fashion: Hits And Misses, And Plenty Of Yawns
It’s always been my understanding that the Grammys are Hollywood’s Halloween of sorts. For one night, all bets are off. You can stray from safe, bring the hem line up, and add an inch (or 5) on your heel. Alas, this year’s Grammy’s seemed to pull a page from the always safe Oscars: a bunch of yawns, and too many huge misses. Here’s a look at the best (and worst!) of what the red carpet had to offer tonight.
Mash Up! Top 25 (Superfun) Billboard Hits of 2009
This has been making the rounds, and for good reason — it’s a catchy, boppy new yet familiar song that sums up the last year not only in mashing up some of the biggest hits of 2009 but in doing so in auto-tune, which was one of the distinctive, hallmark sounds of the year. (It [...]
Rihanna’s First Interview Since Chris Brown Assault Leads To Huge 20/20 Ratings (UPDATE)
In her first interview since being beaten by then-boyfriend and fellow pop star Chris Brown, R&B singer Rihanna appeared Friday night on 20/20 to give her account of the ordeal and the aftermath to Diane Sawyer. For ABC, the returns were huge, giving the network its best ratings in that demo of the past 3 years.
Chris Brown Tries To “Crawl” Back Into The Spotlight Again
Chris Brown has a new single out today, “Crawl,” which vaguely touches on his abuse of his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. So today he’s out making the media rounds, in an interview with Angie Martinez on New York radio station Hot 97.
In much the same way his August Larry King interview didn’t help his reputation, this one isn’t going to do much for him either.
Mediaite Presents: 25 Need-To-Know Bloggers You May Not Know Already
As online writing becomes increasingly a part of the mainstream dialogue in America, “blogger” is no longer a dirty word. Some of the best writers of our time operate exclusively on the internet, but some of the most talented still work under the radar. In this in-depth, magazine-length feature, Mediaite has assembled a list of 25 of the best underappreciated bloggers and explained why they matter.
Chris Brown Joins Larry Craig and the Gipper on “Do Not Recall” List
When Chris Brown told Larry King that he didn’t remember brutally beating Rihanna, he seemed like a man unwilling to take any responsibility for his terrible actions.
Still, Brown was in the tradition of a long line of American politicians who’ve used the same line to get out of trouble. Given the number of conservatives who’ve used this particular tactic, we have to wonder: is Chris Brown a closet Republican?
Michael Vick vs. Chris Brown: Who’s The Bigger Bad Guy?
We’ve seen Michael Vick and Chris Brown tumble from their pedestals due to violent acts, yet come away all but forgiven by the courts after committing high-profile, dastardly crimes. But with their repentance tours in full effect and the football season approaching, who’s the Biggest Bad Guy? Do they have a shot at forgiveness or will they continue to be vilified? We run down their ongoing media narratives inside.
Wow, Chris Brown Is, Like, A Total Douche (Updated)
Larry King‘s pre-taped interview with Rihanna-beating Chris Brown is in the can, and CNN has released a short preview ahead of its Wednesday night premiere.
And despite what had to have been heavy coaching, the disgraced pop star comes off looking like a bigger douchebag than before.
Sometimes a Nipple Is Just a Link Bait
Says Arianna Huffington: “Looking for hidden political agendas in every article and every photo on HuffPost will lead to some very convoluted conclusions. As Freud said, ‘Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar’ — and a nipple slip is just a nipple slip.”
