‘Robin Hood’ Bank Robber Gives Away Stolen Money On City Bus

Reporters live for stories like this: a man robbed a bank, hopped on a bus and handed out the stolen cash to passengers before being arrested. Is it redundant to say this happened in Florida?

Hillsborough County sheriff’s investigators tell the St. Pete Times the bank robbery suspect, 27 year old Elmer McGuirt handed a note to a teller in a Tampa Wachovia Bank branch suggesting he had a weapon and demanding cash. He got away–as they all do–with an “undisclosed” amount of money. As the Times explains, his getaway was a bit bizarre:

There’s a guy in Las Vegas who calls himself ‘Robin Hood 702′ (the Vegas area code), who goes around giving away gambling winnings.

Today he was featured on Fox News, and video of his well-intentioned f-bomb made the report.
