South Park Makes Fun Of Occupy Wall Street, Michael Moore And The 99%
South Park satirized the Occupy Wall Street movement and the political sloganeering of percentiles on Wednesday night’s episode. The premise of South Park‘s parody was that the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition was punishing the school for scoring the lowest percentage in health and fitness in the entire country.
Anderson Cooper Puts Psychic John Edward And Mom Gloria Vanderbilt In The Same Room; Marilyn Monroe Shows Up
On his daytime talk show Monday, Anderson Cooper brought psychic John Edward in to do some readings on him, his crew, and–why not?–his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt, who fancies herself “somewhat psychic” (which caused Cooper to slump back in his chair in one of those, “here we go again” moments), revealed to Cooper that not only had she known Marilyn Monroe, but she was visited by her during her session with Edward.
60 Minutes Profiles South Park Creators: Haven’t Yet Found A Line They Won’t Cross
Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the creator’s of Comedy Central other long-running and hit show that consistently makes insightful political commentary by amplifying absurdities from the day’s headlines. South Park has been on air for well over a decade, and its creators have extended their creative reach to movies, and recently, a Broadway show. 60 Minutes‘ Steve Kroft recently sat down with Stone and Parker to discuss their hit musical The Book of Mormon as well as their creative process.
Mitt Romney Tells Today He Loves Twilight And South Park
Mitt Romney is back in action, and this time around he is committed to campaigning as a casual, approachable president-in-waiting: the sort of guy you’d like to have a beer with, except he doesn’t drink. Romney visited Today this morning to chat about his campaign but, more importantly, shed light on what he does with his spare time– which apparently includes listening to ’60s rock and, even more shockingly, reading Twilight.
Thank You, NMA, For That Animated Cartoon Of Osama Bin Laden Being Blown Up And Raped By Pigs
An interesting debate has sprung up following last night’s big news; Is it morally right to celebrate the death of Osama bin Laden? Sure, if there’s anyone who’s death should make us happy, it’s him. However, should we really be celebrating the fact that another human being has been shot to death? It’s truly any intriguing question that has many philosophical implications. However, if you want to discuss it, this isn’t the place. This is a post containing a cartoon of Bin Laden repeatedly being shot while animated blood sprays everyone produced by those Sultans of Subtlety, Next Media Animation.
Dana Loesch and GOProud Chairman Respond to Mediaite’s RNC Debate Anti-Gay Marriage Story
On Monday, we reported that the five candidates for RNC Chair supported the National Organization for Marriage’s position on same sex marriage, and contrasted that unanimity with GOProud Chairman Chris Barron‘s assertion that the Republican Party is “welcoming” to gay conservatives. The story drew disparate responses from Barron, and from conservative pundit Dana Loesch of BigJournalism.com, and the daylight between those responses is quite illuminating.

WATCH: South Park Gives The Shake Weight An Interesting Add-On (NSFWish)
South Park shows the nation what they believe America’s favorite handheld workout device, the Shake Weight, is really intended for. Offensive, hilarious, and poignant, this is what Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been doing for years.
WATCH: South Park’s Advice For Brett Favre
South Park offered some advice to Favre on last night’s episode, when a character named “Captain Hindsight” said that Favre “should have never sent out actual pictures of his schlong.” Agreed.
South Park Depicts Snooki As A Terrifying, Rodent-Like Troll Creature
Last night, South Park took on Jersey Shore with all of the gleeful relish you’d imagine. Typically, when the show takes on a target this easily, they try to hit it so that the obvious jokes are eventually turned into something hilariously bizarre (see also: the Paris Hilton episode). This episode was no exception as they took their portrayal of Snooki to the extreme, depicting her as a terrifying, orange monster stalking the streets of South Park in search of “smoosh smoosh.”
“Draw Mohammed Day” Cartoonist Changes Name, Goes Into Hiding After Fatwa
In a disturbing and matter-of-fact article, Seattle Weekly’s editor in chief Mark D. Fefer explained to readers that there would not be a cartoon by Molly Norris in that week’s paper, nor would there be one in any future issues. No, she wasn’t fired. Norris has followed advice from the FBI, left town, and changed her name after a fatwa was placed on her by Islamic extremists following her cartoon promoting the made up “Draw Mohammed Day.”
FBI Arrests The Man Behind South Park Death Threats While He Prepares To Fly To Uganda
Zachary Adam Chesser AKA Abu Tallah Al-Amrikee has been arrested by the FBI. Chesser made headlines in April when he posted threatening messages to the creators of the series South Park following an episode which seemed to feature the Prophet Muhammad in a bear costume. Chesser was apparently arrested on July 10th at a New York airport while trying to fly to Uganda. Chesser was on the No Fly List and was stopped by authorities before boarding the plane.
Was Failed Times Square Car Bomb Related To South Park‘s Mohammed Episode?
Late Saturday evening news broke that the Times Square evacuation was more than just another preemptive effort; that in fact, there was a S.U.V. with propane tanks and incendiary devices. As news continues to surface, some are starting to wonder if this is in any way related to the recent controversial episode of South Park that featured a depiction of Mohammed, and angered Islamic extremists, since the car was parked just outside the entrance to Viacom’s headquarters, parent company to Comedy Central.
Bill Maher’s Pro-Western Culture Speech: “It Isn’t Just Different… It’s Better”
Last night, HBO broadcast an angry, pseudo-conservative monologue about how Western culture is superior to fundamentalist Muslim “old-school desert sh*t.” The commentator leading this enthusiastic celebration of American supremacy? Bill Maher.
Larry King Interviews Seth MacFarlane; Bizarrely Avoids Discussing South Park
Larry King had Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane on his show last night — one of the only people around who could give a good guess about the pressure that the creators of South ParkTrey Parker and Matt Stone must be facing, given the recent death threats from Islamic extremists over a recent episode. Unfortunately, King awkwardly avoided the questions that everyone wanted to here.
Jon Stewart To Anti-South Park Muslim Extremists: “Go F*ck Yourselves”
Jon Stewart kicked off The Daily Show last night tackling Comedy Central’s censorship of fellow program South Park.
It wasn’t a knock at his own network – instead, it was a critique of the Muslim group who had a problem with the cartoon. A group that is based…in New York.
South Park Creators Defend Their Show Against Comedy Central Censorship
South Park‘s recent episode depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit garnered them death threats from a radical Islamic group, and even though the attack resulted in defenses from Anderson Cooper and Bill O’Reilly, Comedy Central still censored the episode. Creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have now responded to the criticism, standing up in defense of their show.
South Park‘s Mohammed Episode Censored By Comedy Central
All this past week, both fans of free speech and those of cartoons with talking feces as characters have been wondering how the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, would handle the death threats they received from Islamic extremists after last week’s episode. Would they continue to show Muhammed (bear costume or no) or would they bow to pressure. When the second episode in the two-part series aired last night, another big question was raised. Muhammed’s appearance was even more censored than last week, his name was now bleeped out in addition to him being covered up by a big black box. This left fans wondering whether this move was made by the creators or if, like an episode from 2006, executives at Comedy Central had added the bleeps against the artists’ will. A post made on the show’s official site this morning now makes it clear that the network was responsible.
South Park Outrage! Was Cartman’s Hand Just In Blackface?
Yesterday’s conclusion to the two-part South Park (in which the show’s creators dealt with issues of censorship) was already being talked about before it even aired. But amidst the censorship issues, show creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker decided to take on race relations in America by having Cartman’s hand (supposedly possessed by Mitch Connor) in blackface. Cue outrage?
Even Bill O’Reilly Defends “Courageous” South Park Creators
The death threats against South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker following an episode which toyed with the depiction of Prophet Muhammad have clearly hit a chord with a lot of TV personalities. Not only have they drove Anderson Cooper to border on opinion journalism, but they also led to a fairly O’Reilly Factor segment in which the self-proclaimed first amendment loving host admitted that even he would be afraid to do what the South Park guys did.
Anderson Cooper Finds Radical Islamic Threats On South Park Team ‘Chilling’
Anderson Cooper took a rare break from his objective anchor personality tonight to comment on the threats from a radical Muslim group on the welfare of the creators of South Park for making fun of the fact that it is prohibited in Islam to render physical depictions of the Prophet Muhammad.
South Park Returns In Fine Form, Lampoons “Sex Addiction”
There’s been no shortage of controversy in the news since South Park last aired in November, and as you might have been aware, Tiger Woods found himself at the center of much of it. It was inevitable show creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker would take on the Tiger scandal at some point, so they got right to it last night, and delivered a classic, if by-the-book, South Park episode to kick off the show’s 14th season.
Boxee Goes Public, To A Muted Reception — At Least On My TV.
A big day for Brooklyn’s own Boxee: in addition to revealing more details about the previously announced Boxee Box, the company’s existing software transitioned into a public beta. Therefore, we should probably answer this question: the f*ck is Boxee?
Glenn Beck Is His Own Best Critic
Let no one accuse Glenn Beck of not having a sense of humor. As predicted, Beck took some time last night to highlight his sort of starring turn on South Park last week (Cartman discovers a socialist regime at South Park elementary): “You haven’t lived until South Park has done an entire episode on you…Last week Eric Cartman played a much thinner version of me.” But he doesn’t stop there.
Your Moment Of Glenn: ‘It’s Like The Government Is Roman Polanski…’
Today, Glenn Beck went purple over SEIU (The Service Employees International Union) including inviting “the purple shirt people” to the show to make sense of the health care bill, because without the purple shirt the health care bill would not be 2,000 pages long (as opposed to the Constitution, which is only 17 pages long and runs the entire country). Beck’s analogy of the country vs. the health care bill? It’s a doozy.
