It was the moment everyone I had been waiting for — the MTV Movie Award for best kiss. The award, presented by Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, was preceded by a “laser boner” bit featuring Steve-O of “Jackass 3D” fame, which reached “overly long sketch on ‘Saturday Night Live‘” levels of awkwardness.

In what has become the standard opening act for MTV awards shows, Jason Sudeikis went on a pop culture odyssey in search of Taylor Lautner, who got lost in a The Hangover Part II homage. On the way, Sudeikis strolled through scenes from “The Social Network and “Black Swan” (which may have been a hint as to the winners of tonight’s “Best Kiss” award. Am I too obsessed with this award? It turns out that putting movies like Avatar for Best Picture and having Miley Cyrus and Taylor Lautner present awards really does pay off for the Academy. Or maybe it was having Neil Patrick Harris do that opening number (everyone loves NPH!). Either way, despite having one of the most boring red carpets we’ve seen in awhile, the ratings for the Oscars this year were the highest they’ve been since 2005. But we think we know why.

People who memorize every cover of Men’s Health may have noticed something curious about the December issue’s cover, aside from noted dreamboat Taylor Lautner: almost all of the text and layout is identical to a cover from 2007, which featured Jason Statham. The self-recycling was noted by none other than intrepid media watchdog … Perez Hilton. In a statement to Mediaite, Men’s Health editor-in-chief Dave Zinczenko defends the cover:
