Bloomberg TV’s Betty Liu recently spoke with billionaire media mogul Ted Turner about a number of things he’s probably been mulling over the last few days: President Obama’s new plans to raise taxes for the very wealthy and what the future may hold for fellow very wealthy people Rupert Murdoch. Basically: Very wealthy people things.

“Nobody likes to pay more taxes,” said Turner. “At least, except Warren Buffett likes to pay more taxes. He’s the only one.”

Ah yes…we recall those days when everyone asked us “who needs another media site” as many will certainly ask of Mogulite. The difference, of course is that our friends at Mogulite can’t answer it, and we could! Kidding. Just like Mediaite, Mogulite will focus on personalities and in their case, the titans of industry and very powerful people who don’t always welcome attention the way our friends in media do.

Mediaite was first to report on CNN airing of a remarkably sophomoric and disgusting diarrhea scene from the movie Dumb and Dumber to introduce a medical segment about bloody bowel movements. Jon Stewart and his team of producers appear to be readers of Mediaite, as last night they made the derisive point about the clip, though in the larger context of CNN’s flagging ratings.

Fox Business loves to hear media moguls talk about Fox Business. Last week, they had CNN thinker-upper Ted Turner show up to talk about new Fox Business employee Lou Dobbs. Now they’ve invited their leader Rupert Murdoch to discuss the most pressing matters of the day—like how awesome Fox Business is. “Fox Business, Fox News” are News Corp.’s “best growth engines,” he said. “Seriously.”

Ted Turner has a wide range of interests, so it’s fitting that his conversation with Brian Sullivan was wide-ranging. After discussing solar power, job growth, and the gold standard, he touched upon his former CNN employee and “good friend” Lou Dobbs, who recently signed with Fox Business. He had mainly good things to say, though did acknowledge that Dobbs “was a little over the top on the immigration issue while in his last days [at CNN].”

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett rank second and third respectively on Forbes’ list of billionaires. While both have been involved in philanthropy for quite some time, it was only recently that they launched The Giving Pledge, a challenge directed toward the country’s wealthy to give away majority of their wealth to charitable causes. Today, 34 billionaires have signed on.

Remember the days when there were no 24-cable news networks? I don’t– and there are millions of Americans who can’t, either, because the oldest cable news network is now 30 years old. Happy birthday, CNN! To celebrate, Wolf Blitzer played old clips of the nascent network, including their very first broadcast, and sat down with the network’s head, Ted Turner, to reflect on the good old days.

Just as Wolf Blitzer reached his 20th anniversary with CNN recently, he conducted a lengthy chat with the guy who started the network 30 years ago: Ted Turner.

The wide-ranging interview touched on some of Turner’s favorite topics – energy, the environment, his success at CNN – and some topics that very clearly were those Blitzer’s former CNN boss didn’t want to discuss.

Fox Business Network anchor Brian Sullivan sat down with T. Boone Pickens and Ted Turner at the Milken Global Conference in Beverly Hills today. CNBC did too – they called their interview with Pickens a “First On” but it aired after the FBN one.

In the conversation, Turner got a little animated about energy – and dropped a “bs bomb.”
