Hey Look, It’s A Video Of Steven Tyler, Alice Cooper, And Weird Al Singing ‘Come Together’ At A New Year’s Party

Tyler, Cooper, Yankovic video

So, what was your New Year’s like? Did you go to a good party? Were there cool people there? Did Steven Tyler, Alice Cooper, and Weird Al Yankovic show up and sing a song together? No? Yeah, me neither. That’s ok. Thanks to a video making the rounds online today, we can pretend we rang in 2012 with perhaps the oddest musical grouping of all time.

Rolling Stone Releases John Lennon’s Last Interview

rstone

The Beatles have certainly made a splash in the media this year, perhaps more so than most years. Google wished John Lennon a happy 70th birthday with a special video edition of its logo, while Apple made the entire Beatles catalog available on iTunes. Now Rolling Stone is entering the nostalgic arena by releasing recently unearthed clips from what’s believed to be Lennon’s last ever print interview, conducted three days before his death.

Panel Nerds: Tony Blair’s No Foreigner

92Y Tony Blair w Couric 3

Katie Couric opted to go easy on Tony Blair at the beginning of “Tony Blair in Conversation with Katie Couric” at the 92nd Street Y, easing him into the more hard-hitting questions about foreign affairs in the Middle East and Europe. Blair responded to questions about his reflections, writing process, and intentions for his new autobiography. He revealed that he wanted the book to be more “personal” than others in the genre that he admits he’s found “easy to put down.”

Case in point, according to Beck, are the lyrics to the song ‘Revolution.’ And alas, I do not think he reached this conclusion by listening to the record backwards.

How “The Beatles: Rock Band” Came Together

video

Suddenly, The Beatles are culturally relevant again. Not that their achievements have faded a single bit since they disbanded, but the upcoming release of video game The Beatles: Rock Band (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii) stands at the crossroads of music distributing and video game revolution — and it’s the first significant step by The Beatles towards distributing their music digitally.

Glenn Beck’s Beatles Karaoke Moment

video

Glenn Beck returned to the air waves this week seemingly determined to prove he is still his own man. If you happened to miss it, last night’s show was particular unhinged, the highlight of the hour being Beck’s rendition of John Lennon’s “Revolution.” Words fail, but the spectacle begins around the 8:50 mark.
