Fox Business Network Slams CNBC In New Ad Airing On Time Warner Cable

Fox Business News has bought ads on Time Warner Cable that directly criticize CNBC’s lacking coverage of the U.S. credit downgrade over a week ago.

Al Jazeera English Launches In New York City

It’s official: Al Jazeera English has come to New York City. At midnight this morning (Or last night. Whichever floats your proverbial boat, really.), the network launched in NYC via Time Warner Cable, with plans to be available through Verizon FiOS soon. And you’ll recall that the network has previously announced that it would like to debut an English-language children’s channel in the near future as well.

Time Warner And Fox Reach A Deal Preventing New Year’s Blackout

Though we came very close to a television doomsday, Time Warner and Fox parent company News Corporation reached a last minute deal that prevented a blackout of Fox stations on the cable service, the New York Times is reporting. A breakthrough in negotiations prevented a blackout of Fox channels on Time Warner cable as the two companies battled over subscriber prices, setting the stage for television’s “economic template for the future.”

NFL Network Continues Its Not-So-Rosy Relations With Cable Providers

Ever since the NFL Network launched in 2003, there seemingly hasn’t been a moment it wasn’t embroiled in controversy involving its relationship with at least one major cable company. It ended a protracted standoff with Comcast earlier this year (though some Comcast subscribers already had the network), They’re still doing plenty of fighting, however, most prominently with Time Warner.

They were legally separated in March. And now, Time Warner Cable and Time Warner and its networks – like CNN – appear to be falling farther out of favor.

Multichannel News has the details of the channel changes planned by Time Warner Cable in New York, that will launch CNN from channel 10 to channel 78 beginning next month.
