For some, Halloween is an opportunity to take on a new persona; for others, it’s an opportunity to proudly let their true colors fly. Mediaite has combed celebrity sites, media soirees, and the viral web to assemble some of our favorite costumes of Halloween ’09. In our travels, we’ve come across Heidi Klum dressed as a raven, Nick Douglas dressed as PostSecret, Jon Gosselin dressed as a shallow celebrity tabloid cover (!), and much, much more:

No, he does not seem to be trying especially hard, but then, would the real Homer? Maybe it’s part of the costume.

Some costumes are just too much of a stretch…

This stunning group costume/spectacle got a bit freaky when the full drunkenness of the Ewoks made itself known. Yes, you read that correctly.

5. Bill O’Reilly on The View as Dracula

Surprisingly, a forum in which Elisabeth Hasselbeck is dressed up as a giant box of Count Chocula can lead to some really heated political debate.
