Forget The Salahis — Is Barack Obama The World’s Biggest Reality Star?

David Carr’s latest New York Times column, “Reality TV’s Glare Hits High Office,” has more zingers than Obama has photo ops, as he suggests the president scale back on the “oversharing.” The White House-crashing Salahis are after reality TV fame, but the Obamas have it locked down. But in his criticism of the “Celebrity in Chief,” isn’t he forgetting an important player — namely the press club he’s a valuable member of?

SNL Spoofs The Salahis: Secret Service, Facebook Photos, and, Oh, That Sari

Even if it hadn’t just been in the news, the Salahi party-crasher story was practically begging for an SNL spoof. Well, SNL delivered, opening the show with the now super-recognizable (and snap-happy) couple crashing Obama’s Allentown speech with their pals, the Secret Service and Joe Biden. Was it the real Salahis, as rumored? Nope, but it really didn’t matter — you’d know that sari anywhere.

White House Press Corps Hammers Gibbs On Party Crashers; He Blames Secret Service

The White House press corps peppered Press Secretary Robert Gibbs with questions about the party crashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, and he appeared to place the blame squarely on the Secret Service.

During today’s briefing, several correspondents tried to get Gibbs to expand on the announced investigation and vague public comments by the Secret Service. They didn’t have much luck.
