So, what was your favorite commercial during the game last night? Was it the one with the vampires? Yeah, that was good. The dog working out? Yeah, pretty cute. What was mine? Oh, probably the absolutely amazing Will Ferrell commercial. Wait, you didn’t see a Will Ferrell commercial? That’s weird…oh, I know. It must be because you don’t live in Nebraska which is the only place in the world it aired.

“Who killed John Boehner‘s career here?” Rachel Maddow would like to know, making it pretty clear she thinks that Boehner won’t still be Speaker of the House this time next year. “This is not John Boehner tripping and falling,” she continued. “This looks like John Boehner was pushed.” She then compared his lack of support to Will Ferrell’s character’s one-man streaking fiasco in Old School and showed, like, half the movie as evidence.

When you’re one of the most recognizable comedy stars in the country, there are a lot of things you can’t do. For example, you can’t walk down the street without people looking at you. However, there are also a lot of things you can do that no one else can. For example, if, one day, Will Ferrell just decides he wants to make commercials for Old Milwaukee beer for some reason, he can call up the Pabst Brewing Company, head to Davenport, Iowa, and just do it.

And, well, that’s what he did.

The White House Press Briefing Room got a little disorderly yesterday as comedian Will Ferrell swung by to say hello to Press Secretary Jay Carney and generally fool around in the White House. CNN caught some of the footage of Ferrell posing for pictures and joking with Carney.

If anyone in the sports world needs a particularly potent prayer before revving it, it’s the men and women of NASCAR, and before a race this weekend, Pastor Joe Nelms of Lebanon, Tennessee delivered. “Thank you for the Dodges and the Toyota,” the pastor began, blessing every mundane detail in the race– from the fuel to the motors to his “smokin’ hot wife” in an invocation for the ages.

Actor Will Ferrell finally paid a visit to Zach Galifianakis‘ interview series – the aptly-named “Between Two Ferns” – to promote his new movie, Everything Must Go.

A few weeks ago, Will Ferrell sent a disturbing message to Conan O’Brien, promising to shave off the beard which had become an iconic symbol of his post-NBC days. He even set a date for, what TBS marketing people dubbed the “Beardpocalypse:” May 2nd. Well, that day finally arrived and, as of last night, O’Brien’s face-covering is no more.

And The Twelve Days of Random, Online Christmas Videos continues unabated with a doozy from the folks over at Funny or Die. In it, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly don wigs, Christmas sweaters, and terrible, terrible British accents to transform themselves into David Bowie and Bing Crosby so they can re-enact the unlikely pair’s performance of “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.”

Funny Or Die has produced a video featuring a star-studded cast of actors who previously portrayed US Presidents on Saturday Night Live. Jim Carrey‘s turn as Ronald Reagan and Dana Carvey‘s George Bush recall a kinder, gentler, and perhaps funnier era of SNL political satire. The message behind the video? Promoting finance regulatory reform (and reminding viewers that much of the financial mess in which Obama finds himself, was inherited from previous administrations?)

What’s not to love about Christmas songs? From Hallowe’en on for as long as we can remember, they’ve been drummed (ba-rum-tum-tum-tum) into our heads, so no matter who you are or what you celebrate in your own home, you can sing along to pretty much any of them. Which is always fun to do, unless you’re a total Scrooge (hi, Garrison Keillor!) Here are just a few of our favorites, from old classics like Bing & Bowie (aw) to The Boss, The Pogues, The Muppets and The Mariah. So, enjoy! And MERRY CHRISTMAS! I love doing that. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Woo, the Internet is magic!
