‘Inflammatory’ Video Of Casey Anthony Reacting To News Of A Dead Child May Soon Be Unsealed

A Florida judge is debating whether to release video footage of a jailed Casey Anthony that was sealed for being “highly inflammatory.”

In the video, Anthony reacts to news reports that a meter reader had found a child’s body in a swampy area near her family’s home. A highly emotional Anthony is seen doubling over and hyperventilating. At the time, the body had not yet been identified as that of Anthony’s daughter, Caylee.

The court determined that the video would undermine the court’s efforts to ensure Anthony’s right to a fair trial. But, now that Anthony has been acquitted on charges that she had killed her child, Orlando television station WKMG-TV Local 6 has filed a request to have the video unsealed.

The Orange and Osceola County State Attorney’s Office has said that it does not have a “dog in this fight,” and the decision to release the footage or keep it sealed is solely between the judge and the television station.

Too little, too late – twelve imbeciles have let this murderer go free to enjoy “a beautiful life”, while caylee’s ashes sit in an urn on a mantel.

I haven’t seen this clip, but, from the descriptions I’ve heard, this is the “smoking gun” that could’ve resulted in a conviction. Then again, the jury seemed intent on an acquittal, so maybe they would’ve found a reason to dismiss it as well.

Now that she is getting released from jail, she needs to live someplace. How about next door to the jurors who let her get away with murder? Maybe she can even babysit for their kids!

  • 2012freedom

At this point why bother releasing it? To piss off people more that she was acquitted?

  • struckgld

Surprised by the verdict? You shouldn’t be; all 12 were DEMOCRATS, the same as OJ’s jury. There is a reason why Defense Attorneys all want a majority of Democrats on a jury.

  • struckgld

    All 12 jurists were DEMOCRATS.

It is no secret in jury selection science that defense attorneys know they need a majority of Democrats on any jurty to ensure an acquital.

I just gotta ask; how do you know? Really, just an honest question.

Because every time something bad happens, Democrats are at fault. Duh!

Yes, people love to be angry, and the media makes their profits fueling that anger.

Just adds fuel to fire of how prosecution screwed up for not adding felony charges of disposing of body and or evidence. While this video would not provide evidence of murder, it would erase doubts one might have of being involved in criminal activity after an accidental drowning which seems to be what the jury thought.

I’m not seeing how this would be prejudicial against Anthony.

Is that a reaction to realizing she’s busted? Maybe. Is it a reaction to finding out for the first time that Caylee is dead? Maybe that, too. It wouldn’t be unusual. In fact, you’d expect something like that. With this lying POS, I’d be looking for indications that she was faking it.

Other than that fact that it’s visceral and inflammatory, that is. I don’t see how it proves her guilt, is what I’m saying.

From what I’ve heard, her response when they thought they’d found Caylee’s remains on prior occasions was to smirk or show no reaction at all. In contrast, when she saw that the discovery was, you know, exactly where she’d dumped the body, she had a very visceral reaction. Of course, the video alone wouldn’t be damning unless they had video (or testimony) of her reaction to the earlier events.

Did you say the same thing in the Bill Maher thread?

Right, the responsibility to put someone in prison or under the needle is entirely a jury. Our laws (w/heavily weighted precedence), police, prosecutor, and Judge have no role to play whatsoever, mob lynching by randomly assigning 12 lemmings, that’d be an excellent legal system – not! Casey Anthony is surely responsible for her daughter’s death, there’s no reason to think she isn’t, but she wasn’t charged with being responsible for the death, she was charged with premeditated murder and the other charges assumed the same level of aggravation. The DA figured he had a slam dunk and overshot, and lost. That is the way our legal system works, and thank god. If ever I’m charged with a crime and I can’t PROVE I didn’t do it I’d want the protections of our legal system. As it is, a corrupt and motivated prosecutor could make a case against most of us for something, especially if we had any (innocent) involvement in whatever it is. We can’t have a legal system where the defendant is required to prove their innocence, that’d be the opposite of freedom.

Ooooh, the public just can’t get enough of Casey Anthony. If she were not so pretty, would anyone care?

That is incorrect actually 4 have been known to be Republicans.

“Hmmmm…we can’t allow that evidence because it would be too incriminating!”

Is she, though? I’ve never gotten this line of thought about the public outrage. The murder of a little white girl spurring on the media, that I get. Not to sound nasty (because we wouldn’t want anyone getting nasty or bitter over this case) or imply guilt one way or another, but she always looked a little trashy to me.

But I do feel sorry for her. She would have been safer in prison than what’s happened. She’s going to spend the rest of her life living in fear of some Nancy Grace-inspired whackjob hiding in her bushes waiting to “finish the job the jury couldn’t.” That’s gotta be a lousy way to live, whether she did it or not.

I don’t know. This whole story, and its so surreal it could have been just a story, is trashy and sensational in part because of her appearance. A trashy, loose, lying, stealing, selfish young attractive mother who did or didn’t kill her child. This would have sounded like a movie without the reality – which makes it sad and uncomfortable and (obviously for some) anger inducing. This kind of reminds me of a movie Jodie Foster made around 10yrs ago where she was a white trash rape victim. The story dealt largely with the resulting trial. They pulled no punches, it was a difficult and powerful movie, yet who would believe the white trash character playedby Foster didn’t ‘ask’ for it, which is what the defense argued. She also was a largely unsympathetic person – yet she HAD been raped and as horrible as that was it would have made her a double victim if her lowly character had convinced the jury the ‘upstanding’ young men who participated were innocent. Its not the same thing of course since with Anthony we’re talking real life, but the story is very similar in my mind.

  • Dem4Ever

I want to see just how good an actress this little Casey Anthony really is. Maybe she has a future in porn…who knows…I bet they could come up with some pretty good names for her movies.

They should release it so people who end up on juries don’t think they are getting the full story in court. Often, in a civil case, the defense is funded by some insurance company, and the attorneys and their witnesses are not allowed to mention it or a mistrial is declared.

  • LAPhil

I sure hope the tape gets released.

  • Reginawarino

I love your comment!! My feelings exactly.

I am a democrat and no way in hell would she get an acquittal out of me!!!! The jurors who spoke said they acquitted her because they had no cause of death and without a cause they couldn’t convict her. Those jurors didn’t have the privilege to hear all of the evidence like we did. And those damn instructions the judge gives them only aids in an acquittal.
