ABC Reports Obama Leads Romney In Early Voting 52% To 45%

President Obama had a lead over challenger Mitt Romney in early voting, winning 52 percent of the vote. Compared to the last election, he led by a smaller margin: In 2008, Obama had an 18-point lead.

ABC’s Jonathan Karl reported that 46 million voted early, which is 36 percent of the electorate. Among those voters, Obama won 52 percent, compared to Romney’s 45 percent. While that’s a 7-point spread, Karl said to keep in mind that that lead is significantly smaller than it was in 2008 — “which suggests at least a much closer race.”
