Mediaite Publisher Dan Abrams appeared on a number of television shows today to promote his new website Gossip Cop.

During a segment on Live with Carlos Watson, Abrams got into a bit of a kerfuffle with Nation publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel, revealing the torturous management style we at Mediaite have to endure.

As a media watch dog site we can only make the following comments:

It was not your show big guy.
Does this attack on The Nation‘s editor mean Abrams is a closet conservative?
How come there were no TV appearances to promote the Mediaite launch?
Though Abrams has no say in the editorial content of the site, we still are constantly badgered by his interruptive style. How does this taste boss-man?

I love watching this self righteous blowhard defend his ridiculous website ventures. It’s just laughable to claim gossip blogs are responsible for the public’s deteriorating trust in news organizations. What has turned people off are idiots like Abrams who go on cable news preening and posturing for the camera, opining about insignificant stories.

Where is the little McCrap factory that churns these sites out, anyway? What’s Abrams next brilliant idea? “We watch Home Shopping channels and report any specious claims!!”
