Thank you, Andy Breitbart! Your video exposed the RACISM among the NAACP who had just called the TEA PARTY a bunch of RACISTS! Even though your video did touch on Shirley admission that she was wrong in her early dealings with the white farmer, it also showed the members of the NAACP laughing and affirming her overt RACISM which had occurred years ago. I understand you held on to the video for at least 3 months and didn't use it until Ben Jealous, the IDIOT CEO of the NAACP came out with his RACISM claim on the Tea Party. The PROGRESSIVE PUKES will try and blame you for their own failures. You are a Patriot and an American Hero. We can count on REAL TRUTH from Big Government and Big Journalism. The fact that the White House and the goofball head of the NAACP jumped the gun and fired Shirley without finding the full story is THEIR PROBLEM, not yours. Keep up the good work!! The real truth-seekers in this nation are behind you, 100%!

There is no question that the Chair of the NAACP made a racist statement. There is no question that Shabazz of the NBPP made a racist statement. Wright has made racist statements. The NAACP and WH fired Sherrod without knowing the facts and without due process. Now the WH is offering a job to Sherrod. Breitbart has offered a $100k for anyone showing proof of spitting or N-word. The money is unclaimed. Obama jumped the white cop and defended the black Harvard professor, before he knew the facts. Abrams stepped forward to say that O'Reilly had make a mistake and that he had recommended that he apologize, which O'Reilly did. I believe these incidents are well documented and are acknowledged by both liberals and conservatives.

One of the worst interviews I have ever seen. Breitbart changes the subject every time he's asked a question he doesn't like, and King just allows it. That's not to say that everything Breitbart mentions is irrelevant, but King never gets the change to play video that's central to the story because Breitbart cuts him off. Regardless of you political leanings, I think most people would agree that Breitbart is a pretty odious person. Why is he always so agitated? When you're a conservative and even Sean Hannity can barely stand to do an interview with you, something is very wrong. He's not helping anyone's cause by appearing on television.

@Magister

The group in the room definitely clapped and laughed, feeling safe to do so in a room with no white people. And even if it were true, nodding in agreement is agreement with a racist sentiment nonetheless.

Yes, the recent Breitbart video was definitely intended as a hit job on a Obama administration appointee (and resulted in her firing). And yes, the rest of the video shows the second half of Sherrod's story, a recounting of a life journey/epiphany, and how she eventually recognized her own prejudices and "overcame" them. The video was edited to skew the context, period. Shame on Breitbart.

In related news it's interesting to see the Obama people extracting their collective foot from Shirley Sherrod's rear today. "Sorry ma'am, we throw people under the bus reflexively, I'm sure you understand, we shall overcome this.." and so on.

That being said, consider the fact that Breitbart had the video since March. He didn't release it to randomly attack Obama's interests, rather, he released the video to counteract and defend against the NAACP's recent attack on the Tea Party. You know, the narrative that every single US news broadcast covered last week, the manufactured story that was purposely coordinated by the Obama administration and the NAACP to to discredit and marginalize the American Right a few months before the mid-term elections. Yeah that one.

When viewed in it's entirety, the most important aspect of the video isn't Sherrod's story at all. The real controversy stems from the audience's reaction. The whole room of card-carrying NAACP personnel laughed, clapped, and more or less cheered when Sherrod was only half way through her story. They couldn't have understood she was relating a parable of personal growth; she hadn't yet finished speaking. The whole room joyfully expressed their agreement when she told them the part about ignoring the plight of a poor white farmer. Yeah! Stick it to that cracker!

The video is damning evidence of racism within the ranks of the NAACP, the very same organization who attacked the Tea Party a week earlier, the very same organization founded as a bastion of resistance to bigotry. The hypocrisy is palpable.

Granted, there is inconclusive video evidence of a man spitting on a Congressional Black Caucus member (saliva that may have been inadvertently discharged while the man was belching non racially-epithetic rhetoric inches from the congressman) and few crazies carrying Obama-is-a-monkey placards at rallies open to the general public. The Left's evidence of Tea Party racism is sparse and piece meal at best. The Sherrod video isn't from an outdoor public rally, but an invitation-only NAACP-sanctioned event.

The fact remains that anyone who doesn't believe the Sherrod video is sickening evidence of racism within the NAACP is either blind or stupid. Even the NAACP condemned the crowd's behavior.

@Joe Shaver: It was a small group of local members who nodded in recognition. Earlier, I compared it to a waiter telling a gathering of restaurant employees about the rude actions of a customer, which caused them to think about spitting in the soup.

In actuality, the reaction was more reserved than what can be typically found on Sunday morning at some predominantly African-American churches, when the preacher is talking about the behavior or justifications offered by a sinner. It doesn't mean that the congregation endorses the sin, it just means that they found a truth in the story.

King, in that novel you wrote to the president, you left out your hatred of white people, and how you completely ignore racism when it comes from blacks such as the panthers, Rev. Wright, or Farrakhan. You should write another letter and tell Obama just how badly you hate whites, then maybe you two could have a beer summit to talk it over.

Thumb up 23 Thumb down 20

"The full video shows that it was edited in away to make her look like she was being malicious. In all actuality she was talking about a life journey out of racism. This is a fucking hit piece and nothing more. Andrew brightbitch will be exposed soon for the racist fraud he is. Disgraceful"

This video was intended to show how the group of NAACP personnel LAUGHED AND CLAPPED when Sherrod was only half-way through the parable (life journey out of racism). The group in the room didn't understand she was explaining her "life journey" because she hadn't yet finished the story. The whole room joyfully expressed their agreement when she told them the part about ignoring the plight of a poor white farmer.
The video is damning evidence of racism at the NAACP, the very same organization who attacked the Tea Party a week earlier with no real evidence to support wide-spread overt racism. The clip of the man spitting on the CBC member on the steps is terrible, but it's just ONE man. The Sherrod video shows a large group of important NAACP members cheering for racism, and today NAACP has condemned it.

This has to be one of the weakest interviews done by a so-called reporter I've ever seen. John King is not prepared and he doesnt keep Breitbart on subject or accountable. King is a minor leaguer Sherrod mentioned this incident with the farmer occurred when gvt first passed farm insurance - back i the 1980s. Hence the time-frame..

Where pray tell was John King demanding evidence from the NCAAP regarding their “tea partiers are racist” statements? He was NOWHERE.

Just more double standards at CNN. Protect teh one at all costs, demean the tea party patriots.

Brietbart’s points are and should be well taken – the left and the media (is there a difference?) slandered the tea partiers without evidence, and now claim that Breitbart did the same.

Gawd, the media sucks.</blockquote>

By all means, let's not focus on Breitbart's continuous lies and Hannity's perpetuation of those lies which have resulted in the forced resignation of a good and decent woman who, demonstrably, did much to help people who needed help. Ancient grudges and canned criticisms, well beyond their shelf lives, are what truly matter.

TRUTH AND DECENCY DIE AT BREITBART AND FOX NEWS!

Truth and decency die everywhere EXCEPT fox news. MSNBC, CNN, NBCABCCBS and print media all claimed the tea partiers were racists, without one shred of evidence.

There is no doubt that the audience applauded her racist statement, even though that was only part of her story. If you deny that, you are deaf and blind.

Where pray tell was John King demanding evidence from the NCAAP regarding their "tea partiers are racist" statements? He was NOWHERE.

Just more double standards at CNN. Protect teh one at all costs, demean the tea party patriots.

Brietbart's points are and should be well taken - the left and the media (is there a difference?) slandered the tea partiers without evidence, and now claim that Breitbart did the same.

Gawd, the media sucks.

This is the key point in the Atlantic piece:

Breitbart focuses on race. Today's episode with Shirley Sherrod, who was forced to resign from the Agriculture Department on the basis of a doctored and intentionally misleading videotape (see below), is an especially ugly case in point, calculated to stir the very worst racial resentments. This time the political world--the NAACP, the Agriculture Secretary--moved as quickly as the media world to unthinking response, and I suspect it happened precisely because race was involved. I don't doubt that the administration's understandable desire to avoid racial issues played a big part in how this turned out.

This is the text of my e-mail sent to President Obama overnight. I understand thousands of such e-mails have been transmitted and thousand more will be.

-----

Sir:

My letter addresses, in particular, those Administration actions which led to the forced resignation of Ms. Shirley Sherrod. In the witch hunt-like hysteria bought about by the lies of Andrew Breitbart and his various outlets and certain media personalities at FOX News, eager to perpetuate the lies, your Administration acted rashly. We all understand the toxic racial environment in which this unfolded, and the Administration’s noble desire and efforts to clean this environmental catastrophe are commendable. However, to over-react to self-serving liars masquerading as journalists creates yet another problem. The victim of Mr. Breitbart and such FOX News personalities as Glenn Beck, Steve Douchey and Sean Hannity, and others, Ms. Sherrod, needs to be given the opportunity to return to her position. She is, by all accounts, a good and decent person, a loyal and valuable public servant. Right the wrong your Administration has perpetuated, at once.

The Administration has a larger problem, however. In its efforts to illustrate its post-racial nature, the Administration has previously overly-reacted to reports by, frankly, lying scumbags, wholly devoid of personal and journalistic integrity, with the only discernible effect being the loss of talented, dedicated individuals in the Administration. You have gained no respect by the loathsome cretins, and you have effectively encouraged them. The Administration has tried, honestly and aggressively to reach out to these marginal people in our media who have being openly hostile to the Administration and to you from the moment your 2008 victory became apparent. No good end has come, and none will come. These are not good people. You simply have to accept the fact you are dealing with shameless self-promoters without any respect for their profession, for you or for our nation. You have to adjust your policies accordingly. I encourage you to do so, at once.

Respectfully,

-----

The question is why the White House fell for the sneaky Fox's propaganda.

Please. Most Americans can stomach lying and stupidity and corruption, but no matter what their political beliefs are, they can't stand a wimp -and that's exactly what Obama is: a WIMP! If he had a backbone he wouldn't have fired Sherrod. If he grows one in the next 24 hours he'll re-hire Sherrod Brown and apologize for how she was treated.

YOU LOST. Let Fox put out another tape tomorrow and see how many people believe them. Just you and your Kool Aid drinking buddies.

Guess what, dipshit -Obama's flunkies fired Sherrod. They fired her because either they were stupid enough to believe a serial liar like Breitbart, who has a history of pimping doctored video OR because they are gutless cowards who don't have the balls to stand up to creeps like Breitbart. Given that Van Jones was also fired after Glenn Beck and his little hate campaign smeared Jones as a communist, it's obviously the latter.

If Obama had a pair of balls, Sherrod would still have a job.

The NAACP and WH have "short term" EGG on their FACES. But FOX is going to be "tainted" for a LONG time by this. And....Breitbart may have one last horrah. But his h8ful mess is exposed. And....Fox can spin it any way they want but they are CLOSELY associated with him. People will initially talk about the NAACP and WH. But eventually they're going to get around to FOX and ACORN tape and Van Jones and O'Keefe and Breitbart and how far Fox will Go to bring down the Pres.

If Beck wants to do something next month worthwhile. He'll steer people toward "racial healing" instead of Bashing the Pres. all day. Of course that "idiot" Palin will stand there with her usual "idiot" rant. But this is Becks moment go down in History as a Real Patriot or go down in History as a Hack.

If Beck wants to do something next month worthwhile. He’ll steer people toward “racial healing” instead of Bashing the Pres. all day. Of course that “idiot” Palin will stand there with her usual “idiot” rant. But this is Becks moment go down in History as a Real Patriot or go down in History as a Hack.

This is definitely Andrew Breitbarts McCarthy moment.

All that's left is for someone to stand up and say....

"Until this moment, Andrew, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness. Let us not assassinate this lady further. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?"

John King, you are an idiot for letting Breitbart off-topic filibuster like that.

Do your damn job.

It's funny to watch his meltdown though. I can't wait for tomorrow. It will not be a good day for him. lol
