AZ Gov. Jan Brewer ‘Will Consider Suing’ The Federal Government Over Immigration Law

video

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has taken the media offensive since a judge blocked several provisions in the state’s new immigration law, first appearing on CNN and then putting on a chipper face for a primetime appearance as Sean Hannity‘s guest on Fox News. Struck by her optimism, Hannity questioned Brewer on her next step regarding the law, and she left open the option of suing the federal government.

Gov. Brewer explained exactly what the next step was to salvage the parts of the law that were turned down: “we will file an expedited appeal in the Arizona Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.” While she admitted the judge’s decision was disappointing, she said she was confident “America is not going to sit back” and that this was “just a road bump,” as “the people of Arizona and the people of America are on our side.”

She also repeats previous appeals to the federal government to “darn it, do you job and enforce the laws!”, and threatens that she has not ruled out suing the federal government on the matter: “I will consider filing a suit against the US federal government.”

I realize that a once very unpopular governor is milking this for all it’s worth, but this woman is a raving lunatic. She can’t sure the federales over this. It will be kicked out and Arizona will go even further into debt from all of the attorney’s fees she is racking up. And, no. The Attorney General will not be handling this suit either. The constant stream of money she is throwing out goes straight to private attorneys.

If I lived in Arizona, I’d start a recall effort to get this emotionally unstable, mentally challenged spendthrift out of office.

This is just another example of a failed system. The federal government wont do their constitutional job and the states are not allowed, at least temporarily, to do the job the feds won’t.

What these governors and state legislators, at least two thirds of them, need to do is call for a Constitutional convention to create, write and attempt to pass new amendments to the US Constitution.

There are 2 methods to pass amendments. One involves the federal government and the other method completely circumvents the US Congress. The second method has never been used however. Our founding fathers were brilliant in their knowledge that a central government can and will eventually become bloated and corrupt. So the 2nd method gives the states a tool to protect their citizens.

Why does Brewer, instead, not demand that the U.S. Congress take up the issue of immigration reform? A couple years ago, John McCain, Arizona Senator, was pushing for that, before his integrity got highjacked by the tea partiers. Clearly it is time for a national dialogue and a modernized immigration/border security plan. I suspect the reason the Republicans do not want to do that is because they do not want the several million Hispanics who would benefit from Reagan style amnesty to become members of the Democratic voting block.

“She can’t sure the federales over this” … I’ not sure what you mean when you say, “She can’t sure the federales…” but I am pretty “sure” she can sue them!

“It will be kicked out and Arizona will go even further into debt from all of the attorney’s fees she is racking up”. … Not when the 70% of the people in the US who support this bill start donating to a very just cause!

“The Attorney General will not be handling this suit either.” … She fired that guy a few weeks ago…good job Gov Brewer!

“If I lived in Arizona, I’d start a recall effort to get this emotionally unstable, mentally challenged spendthrift out of office.” … I wouldn’t worry too much about you moving to AZ…you wouldn’t last…they don’t like “emotionally unstable, mentally challenged” people living down there.

Sorry for the typographical error. Rather inexcusable.

Actually, Brewer has no cause of action against the federales. The law is not a public opinion poll.

He is an elected official. The nutty governor can’t fire him, although she probably thinks she can. And, we can’t fault an attorney for defending an unConsitutional law, can we? He’s doing his job, far better than the nutty governor.

What an odd comment. Arizona seems to be filled with such people already. The nutty governor. J.D. Hayseed. Just to name a couple ….

It looks as if McCain is on the verge of making mincemeat of J.D. Hayseed and the Arizona Tea Partiers. I’m sure he’ll change again. I suppose Kyl could help, but he seems to not be all that effective in the Senate anyway.

How many cigarettes a day does Jan Brewer-Palin smoke? Is it 5? 10? 2 packs? Anyone know?

Gov. Brewer reminds me of a wrinkly faced old prune trying to get some publicity out of all this, not that worried about the people of her state. She has been found telling several false stories, she is another Palin only uglier.

Indeed, I too find little honest concern about the people of Arizona on the part of Governor Brewer.

According to Jan Brewer-Palin, all illegals are drug mules and all Mexicans smell like pinto beans. And her father died fighting Germany in WWII in the famed and deadly battle of Nevada.

Do you have proof? Please link to these “false” stories. Or are you, as I presume, just lying.

Fair enough. I suggest you post such “evidence” in the future.

Most of the Arizonans I have met are well pleased with their governor. While it may be true that the libtards do not like her, somebody must like her very much–she was elected.

“Immigration reform” is how we got into this mess in the first place. What we should DEMAND is that the Federal government UPHOLD THE LAWS AND THE CONSTITUTION as they took an oath to do.

Typical libtard rhetoric–you can’t attack the issues so you attack the individual. (By the way, do you know your Messiah smokes?)

Criminal aliens cost Arizona $400,000,000 last year. Do you really expect anyone to believe that it’s all a publicity gag?

I could easily attack the issues. It just so happens that my first thought every time I see her is that she must smoke or at least in the past have smoked a large quantity of cigarettes. I’m fully aware Obama smoked/smokes as well, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at him or listening to him.

And just for the record, I’m not a liberal or “libtard”, although I have noticed that that particular insult tends to only come from conservatards. I thought anything with tard was permanently refudiated though. Oh well, silly me.
