Chyron of the Day: Olbermann – “GOP To US: Drop Dead”

This actually comes from last night: a chyron about the health care debate. And it comes form Countdown with Keith Olbermann. You can probably guess which side it comes down on – but the implication seems like even more of a stretch than usual.

“GOP to US: Drop Dead” is even more hyperbolic than a usual Countdown chyron. Here’s Olbermann and The Nation editor Christopher Hayes discussing the GOP opposition to Obamacare. Which apparently calls back to death panels.

> Update An emailer notes the chyron is a reference to the famous New York Daily News headline, “Ford to City: Drop Dead“.
