CNN’s Parker Spitzer Closes In On MSNBC’s Last Word As Morgan Falls Further Behind Maddow

Cable news ratings, January 27, 2011:

•The show that seemed headed for a reboot may have life in it after all. CNN’s Parker Spitzer has quietly gained ground in the ratings recently, and closed to within 15,000 viewers 25-54 of MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell in his new 8 p.m. timeslot. Fox’s Bill O’Reilly remained far ahead in first place, with 824,000 viewers 25-54.

•At 9 p.m., CNN’s heavily hyped Piers Morgan Tonight spent another night in third place, attracting 164,000 viewers 25-54 (a drop of 42,000 viewers from the lead-in, Parker Spitzer), compared to 227,000 viewers for MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.
