Colbert: ‘Cain Picks Up Voters Who Don’t Like Romney, Used To Like Perry, And Can’t Have Christie’

Stephen Colbert lauded Herman Cain‘s surge in the polls on Wednesday’s Colbert Report, saying the former Godfather Pizza CEO “picks up all the voters who don’t like Mitt Romney, used to like Rick Perry and can’t have Chris Christie.”

“Republican voters have been reduced to using the same criteria as a 4 AM barroom pickup,” Colbert zinged. “He has a pulse and no visible cold sores and folks, that is a good thing because Cain is on everybody’s lips.”

The late night host was referring to a new CBS poll that showed Cain tied with Romney for 17% in the GOP race. A huge jump for what Colbert deemed a dark-horse candidate, an expression he only used “because he’s an unexpected challenger, not because he’s a horse.”

Besides tying the former Massachusetts governor in the polls, Colbert noted that Cain had Sarah Palin congratulating the working-class, “flavor of the week”, er, well, Herb Cain, at least.

“Yes, Herb Cain is from a working-class family,” he snarked. “I wonder where Herman Cain came from. Someone should ask Sandra Palin about him.”

It appears to me that they are losing it.

    Colbert is clearly a racist.

I’d say that pretty much sums up the Teapublican race.

No, Herman Cain has a lot of positives going for him.  His only weakness is not having held elected office, but he was a businessman of high authority for many years.  That is much like holding public office, but one is held much more accountable for mistakes.

While Republicans have fine choices for the one who will be the next president , Dems are stuck with an arrogant , incompetent loser who is dragging the rest of the party down the drain with him .

  • The Real Royal Emperor

As my dear friend Michelle-in-Utah would cackle: “*Y*A*W*N*”.

Robert tired and snippy today . Very unusual for him .

Perhaps he and BFD had one of their late night spats again .

    You never had it, skippy!

At least they are not voting for a Community Organizer- LMAO

A Community Organizer- and that’s exactly what America got!!!

  • The Real Royal Emperor

I’m not sure who Ted is, but yes.

    She says:

    YAWN.

    He/she/it is not going anywhere.

    ____ Derangement Syndrome.

That’s about the extent of her “contribution”.

Criticizing a liberal African American is RACISM.

Criticizing a conservative African American is an honorable patriotic duty.

  • Yukon Jack

    EXACTLY!!

All Democrats are chicken-shit scared about giving Jimmy Jr. a primary challenge.

All the uproar over Cain has caught me off-guard lately. But I must say, I’m glad to see it.

    This is just getting pathetic.

Herman Cain was right. Far-leftists’ heads like Steven Colbert are exploding.

While still undecided I was interested in Cain from the beginning but did not feel he had a chance so now I am thinking maybe others were thinking like me that it was a shame he wasn’t going to be a real candidate so I was looking at the others. Still like a little more data before backing him but am excited he is in the running. So no it is not about the other three that I am interested in him. So far it looks like I may choose Cain.

  • Michelle

In other words, the black man can only get people to vote for him by default?  Man, Cain is really bringing out the racism in you libs.

  • Anonymous

I hope Herman Cain wins the nomination.

…It would be very interesting thereafter.

  • FreeMike

Uhm,…what?  He’s saying that Perry’s supporters are leaving him, don’t want to support Romney, so they’ve decided that Cain is the next logical choice out of the rest of the potential candidates.  Not sure how that translates to your spew.

BTW, where’s the defense force for Palin’s lack of knowledge on the Cain’s name.  Or was that a gotcha question?

  • Anonymous

I hope Herman Cain wins the nomination.

…It would be very interesting and uncharted waters for the GOP messaging thereafter.

Its shaping up to be Mitt Romney in the driving seat…for now.

  • Anonymous

Fact: More like how can liberals and the MSLSD use thier famous race card if he wins nomination. Okay now I hear that he has friends that hang out with wall streeters that have evil money!

  • Anonymous

Fact: Next Colbert will find out that Cain goes to church and has a belief in God!

  • Anonymous

I noticed it on several items that I thought you would never like.  I just thought you’d inadvertantly clicked on “like” without meaning to.  I’m not certain, I believe they did’nt have the one after voltman.  Sorry.

Somebody just having a good time messing with our heads.LOL

Positives?  Like calling the protestors in NYC “Anti-American”????????

  • Anonymous

Come’on Michelle.  The only foreign experience he has is that he can “see Cuba from his house”.

  • cdnhawk

You do know that Colbert is playing a character? I hope you are smart enough to figure that out.

  • Anonymous

I saw that and wondered if you had re-invented yourself?????  LOL Good luck with this!

  • Anonymous

Yeah, it’s really silly and child like. But who cares as long as most of you all know what’s going on. Annoying but kind of funny at the same time. Sick sense of humor. I guess I can appreciate that. LOL.So if you see a message that seems odd or that I agreed with someone that seems odd, don’t always believe. I did do a few  things different today. We will see. My messages are sometimes edited too!I hope this one is not. Michelle sent me a message saying “I thought you liked me. Now my feeling are hurt”……..LOL. Michelle has a great sense of sarcasim or some posted a message without her knowledge. If It continues I will just close this account and reopen another.

Unlike President Obama, who spent some time roaming the Indonesian slums as a child? And visiting Pakistan as an adult?  Now there is some good foreign policy background for you.
