Reflecting on the re-election of the country’s first black president, TBS’ Conan O’Brien made a big, huge deal about “standing with my African-American brothers” as we make strides towards a “post-racial” society. I mean, really? Conan? No one was more over it than two of his black co-workers — bassist Mike Merritt and writer Deon Cole.
Here are some of the highlights of their telepathic (Yeah, telepathic. You didn’t know?) ranting:
“Conan is so white, he makes Mitt Romney look like Suge Knight. Even worse, he thinks the NAACP stands for ‘North American Affluent Caucasian People.”
“I’m tired of Conan asking me to introduce him to Nelson Mandela and the guy from the Old Spice commercials.”
“The only ‘hood he’s even been in is the one in his Obi-Wan Kenobe costume.”
“Do you think Conan’s going to figure out that black people can talk telepathically?”
