Dan Abrams: Investigation Into Al Gore Sex Scandal Not Likely To Lead To Charges

News broke last night that Portland Oregon law enforcement authorities are reopening the investigation into claims that former Vice President Al Gore sexually harassed a massage therapist in 2006. NBC Chief Legal Analyst (and Mediaite founder) Dan Abrams appeared with Meredith Vieira on Today this morning, and predicted that this investigation will open and close without any charges brought against the former Vice President.

Abrams belief that the reopening of the case may be fruitless appears to be based on the specific allegations and the amount of time that has passed. Molly Hagerty, a masseuse alleged in 2009 that Gore made unwanted sexual advances towards her in 2006. The National Enquirer who earlier this year broke the John Edwards scandal has neither confirmed nor denied having paid Hagerty for this story, but has admitted to practicing “checkbook journalism” in the past.

Who cares. He is now a private citizen, he holds no public office. If he can’t keep it in his pants like his former boss, well then so be it. Everyone knows he’s a fraud anyway.

By reopening the investigation into Al Gore’s sexual harassment of a massage therapist…

…I have already felt the earth getting warmer.

Oh wait, maybe that is just the sun coming up for the day!

Portland police are clearly reopening the case as a CYA. They’ve received some (unwarranted) criticism; It doesn’t cost much more than a few man-hours to “reopen” a case and it’ll give the woman another opportunity to consider pursuing charges.

As for why this is all coming out at this time, I don’t know whether the Enquirer paid her for the story or picture rights, but if not them, then as I’ve said elsewhere, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some involvement from opponents of cap and trade.

By having this story in the public sphere, it helps denigrate Mr. Gore’s stature and it could make him reluctant to hold press availabilities or subject himself to interviews, which would take one of the legislation’s more natural allies off of the lobbying table.

The police have reopened the investigation. The mainstream media is now forced to cover it. Then again, if it had been a Republican of the same degree of notoriety being charged, this would have been a huge story years ago. Just when you think the media couldn’t get any more hypocritical, something like this always comes around to prove your wrong.

Yeah, I”m sure there will be a “lack of evidence”, Tipper could tell ya that!!!!

But the only thing they could charge him with is “attack with a dead weapon!!!!” LOL

AL GORE Moves to protect property.

” A month after snagging the Montecito estate in October 2009, Al and Tipper Gore transferred nine properties in Carthage, Tenn., from their own names into a limited liability company.

The transfer on Nov. 30, 2009, came after an Oregon masseuse lodged a January 2009 police complaint accusing the former vice president of sexual abuse.

The woman claims Gore came on to her like a “crazed sex poodle.”

Experts say that transferring property is usually a way to protect assets from legal claims.

Th is woman is already being demonized & humiliated,
as if all Masseuse workers are Hookers, and the incident
is being treated as a open & shut case ..
If half this crap is true, it is sexual assault.

How does Dan Abrams & the
rest of the Media know? Were they there?

The National Inquirer would not have paid 1 million dollars for the story if they
    thought it was a shakedown.
I don’t know the truth either.
BUT It’s looking like a duck, walking like a duck & quacking like a duck
    to this point.
The case has not been investigated.

I wonder if this story would be a little bigger if it were Dick Cheney involved instead of Al Gore?

AL GORE SEX SCANDAL ACCUSER reveals shocking NEW EVIDENCE — ONLY to the NATIONAL ENQUIRER in a bombshell world exclusive interview!

“AL GORE is a pervert and sexual predator,” declares MOLLY HAGERTY, 54, the massage therapist who told Portland, Ore. police that the ex-VICE President sexually assaulted her.

“He’s not what people think he is – he’s a sick man!”

When the ENQUIRER first broke the world-exclusive story last week her name was withheld as the victim of a possible sex crime.

NOW, Hagerty has bravely gone public – AND on the record- only to The ENQUIRER – to demand police launch a full investigation.

“I want justice served,” Hagerty said as she reveals the key witness who could blow the case wide open, the secret hotel video surveillance and the DNA evidence!

Ha, now would a self-described “esteemed member of the white house press corps” really do that? Hmmm. Ya, I guess you’re right.

Of COURSE it’s not likely to lead to charges. Unless he admitted to killing Vince Foster, he would not be charged with any of the thousands of crimes he’s committed, and then he would cop an insanity plea and get off with five hours of community service.
