Who makes these decisions at CNN? I thought hiring Eliot Spitzer was an unbelievably stupid move (and the ratings have shown I was right). And remember this is the same network that sacked Lou Dobbs and chased away Glenn Beck, while losing half of their audience in the process. But Kathy Griffin is just an embarrassment. Is only an embarrassment. Will never be anything but an embarrassment. Her greatest achievement is saying the F-word — as if you couldn’t find some junior high gang member who would oblige CNN by doing it for free. Even by CNN’s admittedly low standards, this move is enough to make you cringe.

I have no problem with cursing or a little suggestive talk it was CNN who last year laid down the law on Kathy not I. They made her sign a paper saying she wouldn’t curse or such and if she did then she would never get to be back on CNN NYE again. Well not only did she curse saying the F word again but she talked about doing cocaine and asked Cooper if he masturbated naked while looking in the mirror. Now those things broke the contract that they made her sign and they said afterwards that they would not be having her back on the NYE show ever again. Yet now look, here she is! Just because we don’t like Kathy doesn’t mean we will be watching FOX. As a matter of fact I won’t be watching either. And another fact for you is that I watch BOTH channels as well as others. So you really have no clue who you are talking to by making broad accusations to many people.

y’all crack me up. I think Kathy is hilarious and teaming her up with Anderson has consistently been a house favorite (we watch on west coast as we prepare for our own celebration). She is an acquired taste, without a doubt, but she is neither a has-been (recent Emmy wins, Grammy nomination, successful TV show, sold out stand-up gigs across the country) nor a no-talent hack. I took my ultra-conservative father to her stand-up last weekend (he wanted to go, despite all my warning about curse words, gay-themed humor, and celebrity-focused stories) and, to my surprise, he thought her show was hilarious. Kathy is a loud mouth, a self-professed leftie, and a shameless self-promoter. However, she is also a tireless supporter of our troops – has done several USO shows in Afghanistan and Iraq, visited Walter Reed, etc. You may not agree with her politics, you may not like her humor, you may be turned-off by her personality – I can understand all that – but she deserves the (undeniable) success she has because she works very, very hard for it, shamelessly.
