Fox News Has Top Nine April Cable News Shows In Demo And Total Viewers

ratings

We’ve almost reached the end of April, but the cable news ratings are final for the month.

We took a look at Fox News and their 100th month of dominance, and the battle for 2nd between CNN and MSNBC. Here’s one more way to view the ratings – which specific shows finished where?

Fox News had the top nine shows in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic – a big victory, to be sure, but less than recent months. The top show was, again, Bill O’Reilly‘s FNC 8pmET show by far. Glenn Beck was #2 and Sean Hannity #3 in both categories.

The top MSNBC program in total viewers was Keith Olbermann‘s, rounding out the top 10. Nancy Grace was the top show for HLN, finishing 16th, and for CNN it was Anderson Cooper 360, at #18.

In the demo, Rachel Maddow was #10 and had the top MSNBC show. Grace was #15 and CNN’s top demo finish in April was Cooper’s at #19.

As we sometimes do, here’s a look at FNC’s 3amET Red Eye: the program’s demo rating of 124,000 was higher than CNN’s 8pmET show, anchored by Campbell Brown (by 1,000).

Here is the complete ranker.

Also, here’s the cable network ranker from April – FNC finished 3rd in prime time on all of cable. MSNBC was 23rd, while CNN and HLN didn’t make the top 30.

OK, now I get it…MEDIAite is for the underdog…that’s why they cover MSNBC like a blanket. I have to admit, sometimes it’s better than the ONION for laughs.

Keith Olbermann does better when he is not there.

I would like for someone, anyone, to tell me what real information and positive energy Fox is offering its viewers. Watching O’Reilly, Hannity, Beck and Palin is like watching George Bush, i.e. totally disingenuous, inauthentic characters manipulating an all too willing audience. What we’re experiencing now is the collapse of so-called conservatism. Of course, Fox is attracting a large audience with its goofy propagandists, but it doesn’t even begin to equal the total number of people who steer clear of Murdoch’s sleazy media outlets. I equate Fox with the obesity epidemic. People keep stuffing themselves with industrialized fat and sugar laden foods until they get sick and die, which is what’s happening to the right-wing cause. On top of that, demographics is rapidly working against the deniers. The world is changing and, hopefully, for the better. It will be interesting to see what happens this November. The resentment and anger against the Republicans will be much heavier than even that against the Democrats. People are beginning to understand that we need good government and the Republicans have really been hell bent on destroying our government since their hallowed leader, Reagan, told them that government is the problem. Listen, bird-brains, government is what binds us together, so we should all work together to push it towards excellence. Unfortunately, this is much too simple for most right-wing people to understand.

    To “ganymede…”

What the heck are you blathering about..?

“…until they get sick and die, which is what’s happening to the right-wing cause.”

“…the Republicans are hell-bent on destroying our government.”

    Government binds us together?

Do yourself a favor, go to the library once in a while. Learn a little bit about the world around you…

Then come back with something of substance besides name-calling.

Oh…and construct your messages using paragraphs and use some grammar…you look like a bird-brain.

There are two reasons FOXNEWS comes in first.

#1. Most of their viewers are old and retired. They are the ones who sit in front of the TV day in and day out.
#2. A lot of liberals watch FOXNEWS. As Sun Tzu say: “Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.”
