Fox News Has Top Nine April Cable News Shows In Demo And Total Viewers
We’ve almost reached the end of April, but the cable news ratings are final for the month.
We took a look at Fox News and their 100th month of dominance, and the battle for 2nd between CNN and MSNBC. Here’s one more way to view the ratings – which specific shows finished where?
Fox News had the top nine shows in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic – a big victory, to be sure, but less than recent months. The top show was, again, Bill O’Reilly‘s FNC 8pmET show by far. Glenn Beck was #2 and Sean Hannity #3 in both categories.
The top MSNBC program in total viewers was Keith Olbermann‘s, rounding out the top 10. Nancy Grace was the top show for HLN, finishing 16th, and for CNN it was Anderson Cooper 360, at #18.
In the demo, Rachel Maddow was #10 and had the top MSNBC show. Grace was #15 and CNN’s top demo finish in April was Cooper’s at #19.
As we sometimes do, here’s a look at FNC’s 3amET Red Eye: the program’s demo rating of 124,000 was higher than CNN’s 8pmET show, anchored by Campbell Brown (by 1,000).
Also, here’s the cable network ranker from April – FNC finished 3rd in prime time on all of cable. MSNBC was 23rd, while CNN and HLN didn’t make the top 30.
