Actually, contrary to the belief that FOX News reports "just the facts" with no distortions or lies, studies have shown that viewers of FOX News are more misinformed than viewers of any other leading network. If the reporting is so honest, why do the viewers come away with a skewed perception of reality? I think the conclusion is obvious.

This article isn't bad, if you can't be bothered to read the actual study:

http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/international_security_bt/102.php

But if you have the time, use a bit of it to inform yourself and give the whole study a read:

@ChrisNH, FNC has its problems too, for instance I cannot tolerate Hannity, but I think all of the vitriol leveled against them by the organizations you mentioned is a result of jealousy and frustration. I am sure that MSNBC and CNN thought that their ratings would skyrocket once they got their candidate in the WH, but it only resulted in higher ratings for FNC.

@JohnGonzales, What I find really amazing is that those that ignored the Jones controversy are now acting as though they have been covering it all along. The problem with the coverage by organizations like CNN and MSNBC is that they are trying to make it look as though Jones is an innocent victim who was railroaded by the right. On AC360 the other night David Gergen was whining about what a great guy Jones is and how much good he has done without mentioning anything about Jones' questionable associations and outrageous comments.

I have to disagree with you on CNN. They have not had unbiased coverage for years.

@Ben Linus, Have you tried to watch TSR lately? It is a big fat bore! Filled with endless commentary from people like Jack Cafferty, Donna Brazile, Paul Begala, Susan Malveaux, and countless other Obama supporters, it is probably one of the most biased programs on CNN. Wolf and his now regular "partner" Suzanne Malveaux, constantly interrupt and cut off anyone who opposes Obama and the Democrats on anything while allowing people like Brazile and Begala to shoot off their mouths for as long as they want unchallenged.

I have to admit, Fox news does do a good job, and it definitely shows with those ratings. I know for a fact that it isn't just Republicans watching Fox. My family is mostly made up of Democrats and they watch Fox more than MSNBC or CNN.

Wow, I had no idea that Blitzer's ratings were so low. That's a real surprise to me. I thought he would at least be beating MSNBC. I trust Blitzer way more than Matthews or Schultz.

Hi John and Chris..

You both are so correct. Not only is FNC closer to "right on the dot" they are also connecting the dots.
The Czars for examples, not investigated yet writing bills for congress, is a slap in the Face of the US Constitution and all 32 of them need a complete background investigation as well as congressional approval or get the heck off capital hill. We are no need or any mood for a 4th govt branch that borderlines legalities.
No other media reports these. One Czar wants to insert a "de-sterilization" chemical into our water supply. Another claims 1.5 million will be hospitalized due to the swine flu when the CDC states otherwise, with a prediction of maybe a total of 100,000 cases in the US. Who would you trust with these predictions?
Global Warming-Didn't see this on FNC, online over 30,000 scientists state it's a myth. Records show a quarter million sq miles of new ice discovered under ice caps 2 months no one knew was there and the polar bears are fatter then ever this year. What ice is breaking up is due to ocean currents that run in these patterns over 30 year increments. The thermometers that measure Earth's temperatures are now contaminated by urban sprawl and in-adequate except for ONE in Calif that has no interference and has registered absolutely NO CHANGE in winter and summer temp averages since 1989.
R.I.P. >NBC, CBS, ABC for if you told the truth, you would indeed be competition instead of asking for a bailout.

One example of why Fox News dominates the ratings is because of their presentation of ALL news worthy of reporting. To be more specific, I was just blown away this past weekend at how the mainstream media ignored the Van Jones story. FNC was all over this with "JUST THE FACTS", no distortions or lies. I briefly watched tidbits of MSNBC shows after 5PM CST today (9/8), as I expected them to berate Glenn Beck and blame him for Van Jones' resignation. Sure enough, Keith Oberman is now asking bloggers to find any dirt they can on Glenn Beck.
Fox News is the only media outlet (and sometimes CNN) where one can go to receive honest, unbiased reporting. Their ratings will continue to rise, as long as they remain honest in reporting the news.

Imagine the whining and moaning about FOX News in the face of the NYT, NBC, MSNBC, TIME, Newsweek, most of the major dailies, CNN et al. Incredible that there is so much angst about ONE Cable network. One! Then, of course, the whiners point out the large ratings and viewership that FNC enjoys. That's where they start deriding large swaths of the U.S. population for tuning into FNC in the first place. So they kick American citizens in the teeth and then bemoan the fact that these same citizens aren't tuning in to them. What part of this obvious equation don't Liberal media outlets understand?
